It was mentioned that the County was <br />planning to extend their road from Main Street south parallel with the freeway <br />this year. <br />Mr. L'Allier asked if there had been discussion on park property donation in this <br />development. Mr. Cardinal stated that the Planning & Zoning had decided that it <br />would be best to eliminate a park in the industrial area and to take the money <br />instead. Mr. Locher noted that this could be decided at the time of platting. <br />The P&Z had recommended that the property be rezoned to commercial and that Acton <br />come before the Council with specifics before any permits are requested; Acton is <br />Tilling to go by Mr. Van Housen's recommendations. <br />There was no opposition to the request. Mr. Cardinal moved that the Acton Con- <br />struction request for rezoning for light industrial use be granted as set forth <br />as Ordinance 6P with the stipulation that Mr. Van Housen's recommended steps be <br />complied with. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried unanimously. <br />The hearing closed at 10:40 p.m. <br />Mr. Cardinal stated that the P&Z had discussed the proposed Ordinance No. 52 on <br />the charges for requests for rezoning, special use permits, platting and variances, <br />and had recommended that it be adopted. The Clerk was instructed to place the matter <br />on the agenda for February 9th as the planned publication had been missed and <br />adoption could not be considered this evening. <br />Mr. Cardinal stated that Mr. McLean had attended the meeting on trailer parks held <br />at the Forest Lake School, and that representatives from the P&Z would attend each <br />subsequent meeting. Mr. L'Allier stated that they would meet on the first Wednesday <br />of each month; he reminded that he had suggested that we withhold any mobile home <br />park development for a year. One park for 1700 units with a possible 2500 children <br />has been proposed for Washington County. <br />The Planning & Zoning also considered Mr. Van Housen's rezoning recommendations. <br />Mr. Jaworski stated that there was now ice at Lino Park and that there was good ice <br />at Sunrise Park; the hockey team has won 2 of 3 games, beating Centerville and <br />Centennial. <br />Mr. Rosengren reported that they had sent out feelers on bids for a tandem truck. <br />Also, one cylinder had cracked on the big truck engine and this is being repaired. <br />Mr. L'Allier stated that he wished to appoint Mr. Winfield West as Plumbing <br />Inspector for 1970. Mr. Jaworski moved to confirm this appointment. Seconded by <br />Mr. Rosengren. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. L'Allier noted that the Anoka County Association of Municipalities would meet <br />Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. and that Bary Peterson on the Metro Council would speak. <br />Also the sale of bonds was set for Thursday at 7:00 p.m. <br />Mr. Cape, who had arrived late, mentioned that the Civil Defense had prepared a <br />sheet showing the fallout shelter location and the area it served; these will be <br />passed out this spring. <br />Mr. L'Allier moved that the Clerk again advertize in the paper for applicants for <br />the position of assistant constable as soon as possible. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. <br />Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Locher had been in contact with persons concerned on the insurance policy for <br />Chomonix Country Club and will check with the Clerk on progress. <br />
