88 <br />Mr. Rosengren had no report, but noted that he hoped to have the specifications on <br />the tandem truck by the next meeting. The building committee had met last month at <br />his place. <br />Mr. Bohjanen suggested that street lights be placed on Linda and Laurene. There <br />was general discussion on other sites. Mr. Bohjanen moved to authorize install- <br />ation of up to 6 street lights on the recommendation from the Roads Dept. <br />Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. L'Allier reminded the Council that the next Anoka County Assn. of Municipalities <br />meeting would be Wednesday, February 25 at 8:00 p.m. at Fridley. Representatives <br />of the Metro Council Transit Commission would make a presentation along with their <br />engineers. <br />Mr. L'Allier suggested that the Council meet on March 10th with the Planning & <br />Zoning, the Planner, and the Engineer to gather information on mobile home courts. <br />The meeting was set for 8:00 p.m. Notices will be sent to the school districts; <br />the Engineer and Planner will be asked to bring maps, etc. The newspapers were <br />asked to make note of this. <br />Mr. Bohjanen requested that the Planner attend the next Community and Business <br />Development Commission meeting to add finishing touches on their brochure. There <br />were no objections. <br />Mr. Locher reported that he had received the signed and completed contract on the <br />Baldwin Lake Park site from the St. Paul Water Dept. Mr. Jaworski asked to be <br />informed of the expiration date and when the $1 was to be paid. The Council will <br />act on the renewal of the contract each year. <br />There was discussion on the proposed Rice Creek Watershed. Mr. Bohjanen gave his <br />observations on this and felt that we should be assured a man on the Watershed <br />Board. He thought we should study the Open Space Committee views and keep a watch <br />on the Coon Creek Watershed developments. Mr. L'Allier felt we should tread lightly <br />on this and felt we should go to the Engineer for exact data. He mentioned that <br />the local assessments would be left to the municipalities. Upon further discussion, <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to authorize the Engineer to spend time on a topography map; that <br />this matter would be mentioned to Mr. Gotwald at the March 10th meeting and plan <br />discussions to take place later. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Carried unanimously. <br />There was some discussion on the use of the old police car for police work on bad <br />nights; it was decided that the insurance could not be changed on it. Mr. Rosengren <br />mentioned that the insurance on the tanker truck could be suspended for 6 months <br />of the year when not in use. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved to pay the bills as audited, including the first -half payment <br />of the two fire contracts. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Myhre asked who would decide on the choice of the 4th man for the police force. <br />He was told that the Council would make the decision. The Clerk was instructed <br />to make copies of the applications for the Council to look at prior to the March 9th <br />meeting. <br />Mr. Bohjanen moved to authorize the purchase of a new gun belt for the new man at <br />an approximate cost of $85.00.
