It was decided that Mr. Gotwald and Mr. Rosengren would discuss this <br />IIIfurther with Mr. Locher and would report back. <br />Mr. Jerome Boyd asked about resurfacing East Rondeau Lake Road, and was told that we <br />would try to do the roads with the highest traffic count first. Mr. Rosengren noted <br />that we were trying to do those out -of- the -way short pieces of road first; however, <br />one can go all the way around Rondeau Lake. <br />Mr. Scherer stated that he had talked to Mr. Myhre on the vandalism on some roads <br />such as 64th -- many signs had been taken down along with mail boxes. It was noted that <br />the same thing is going on in other municipalities. <br />The Clerk asked for the Council's opinion on requiring that the proper fees accompany <br />all liquor license applications., Mr. Locher read from Ordinance No. 31, Section 4, <br />Sub. 1, that a receipt for the fee must be received in order for the application to <br />be considered. Mr. Cardinal moved that the Clerk write to all applicants that the fee <br />must be in with the applications by the second meeting in May. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. <br />Carried unanimously. <br />On the advice of the Attorney, Mr. Jaworski moved that the Clerk also write to all appli- <br />cants for beer licenses that the fee must accompany the application before consideration <br />is given. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Ray Thorp, Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop #65, stated that his troop would like <br />to put in 6 hours of policing duty on Hwy. 49 can Saturday, April 18, and requested that <br />a Village truck be used for the cleanup. They planned to start at the Hall, go up Hwy. 49 <br />to Main Street, back down Main to the Apple Inn and back to the Hall. If this did not <br />take six hours they might police Lino Park and Sunrise Park. Mr. Rosengren suggested that <br />they do some of the Village streets instead, since we must do them anyway. Mr. Thorp also <br />asked for police protection. Mr. L'Allier stated that he would ask Mr. Myhre to have <br />someone available. Mr. Locher stated that the Village would have to provide a driver <br />for the truck. The Clerk was asked to check with the State Hwy. Patrol and to let the <br />Mayor and Mr. Thorp know. Mr. Bohjanen moved to authorize the use of a driver from the <br />Roads Dept. and someone from the Police Dept. to check on the Boy Scout cleanup. <br />Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried unanimously. Mr. Thorp stated they would meet at <br />8:45 a.m. <br />Mr. Cardinal had no report, but mentioned the copy of the contractor's ordinance he had <br />received. All Council members received copies and will study the matter. <br />Mr. Jaworski stated that he had received another complaint on the property.at Elm and <br />49. The Mayor stated that the Clerk had written to Mr. Zelinka on this. <br />Mr. Rosengren reported that while cutting up the trees on West Rondeau, the old chain <br />saw quit and it had been necessary to purchase a new one, using the old one as a trade -in. <br />Mr. Backlin and Mr. Gotwald had looked at the North County Line; ,80th. was in good shape. <br />The County Line was good except for the last mile. Mr. L'Allier pointed out the problems <br />on this stretch of road, stating that the grader did not always do that piece, in fact <br />had only been over it once this year; the road needs upgrading and reworking. Mr. <br />IIIGotwald stated that the grader had skinned down the hills and there were no ditches. <br />There was enough grade so that they could use the existing dirt to fill in the low <br />spots; blow sand was available from Ken Rehbein's borrow pit.
