they should be put into a daily interest fund until required by the contractor.
Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried unanimously.
W. Coyle again brought up the subject of the ceiling liner; Mr. Gotwald stated
that originally the Building Committee had wanted 8" material but had changed the
specs to 3" to make the bidding equal. He felt that if the contractors wanted
to hire mechanical engineers to fight out the advantages of the types of insulation,
they could. Mr. Gotwald had talked to independent insulation companies for
information and had found that the 8" was quite satisfactory. Mr. Jaworski
mentioned that Krueger had put no alternatives on the insulation in their bid.
Mr. Locher noted that any substitutions had to be equal to or better than those
required in the specs; we can't just go by the dollar value.
There was Some further discussion on vapor barriers and the insulation. Mr. Gotwald
felt this was not a big item; besides there would still be a difference of some
$300 even if Krueger;s deductions were made. Mr. Krueger was told to have the
information on the changes in air conditioning into the office by Monday.
Mr. Jaworski moved to adjourn at 10:02 p.m. Seconde by W. Carrdinal. Aye.
Minutes approved at the meeting of July 13, 1970
Clerk- Treasurer
The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Village Council held on July 13, 1970, was called
to order by-11610r L'Allier at 8:05 p.m. with all members present.
Mr. Bohjanen moved to accept the minutes of the Board of Review hearing on June 18th
as written. Seconded by-Mi. Jaworski. Carried unanimously.
Mr. Cardinal moved to accept the minutes of the regular June 22nd meeting as
corrected. Seconded by W. Bohjanen. Carried unanimously.
W. Jaworski moved to accept the minutes of the special meeting held on July 6th as
written. Seconded by Mr. Rosengren. Carried unanimously.
Mr. Jaworski moved to accept the minutes of the special July 8th meeting as
written. Seconded by Mi. Bohjanen. Carried unanimously.
The Clerk stated that the affidavit of publication for the Smith hearing (Ord. 6U)
had been received as well as the June settlement from the County in the amount of
$28,475.88. Also, the money from the bond sale had been reinvested to conform '
with the Council's wishes. A letter written to Mr. Blaylock from North Central
Public Service Co. stated that gas lines would be run in Baldwin Lake Road this
month. Literature on office furniture for the new Council chambers, etc. had been
received from General Office Products of Minneapolis;
Mr. Cardinal reported that he had talked with Mr. William Waldoch who had received
the bill for the taxes on the 30 acre parcel and which we were liable for. Also,
when the 2 acre piece was staked out for the new bidding, the piece had excluded
the road easements, so it should have been about 2 -1/2 acres total. Mr. Waldoch
felt he should have more money than agreed on previously. Mr. Cardinal suggested
that we authorize the payment of the approximately $157 in taxes and authorize
the purchase of 1 additional acre of land from Mr. Waldoch at $550. Mr. Bohjanen
moved to authorize the same. Seconded by Mr. Rosengren. Carried unanimously.
W. Cardinal stated that he had the bill for 84 yards of black dirt delivered by
Marvin Rehbein to the parks, and that there was no charge. He felt that a letter
thanking Mr. Rehbein would be in order; the Clerk was instructed to write same.
