Mr. Gotwald recommended that since the Building Committee had met and came up
with the basic design that the matter should be referred back to them for study
and research since there was a substantial difference in the bids; also that the
bidders should get written plans to conform with the specs, etc.
W. L'Allier stated that the'basic thing at issue was the insulation and that
sending the whole thing back to the Building Committee for just this item would
make some delay in getting into the new building. Since Mattson is unwilling to
put in the 3" insulation and Krueger is unable to put in the 8 ", we have our
choice of either; if the 8" is better, is it $3642 better"
'There was considerable discussion on having the two types of insulation tested
and by whom. Mr. Bohjanen moved that both contractors (Mattson and Krueger)
'submit their insulation samples to both Northern States Power and Twin City_
'Testing for two separate reports on both products and that the results of these
'tests be submitted to the Council at a special meeting on Thursday (July 16th)
'at 8 p.m. It is understood that these tests would be done at no cost to the
°Village. Seconded by W. L'Allier. Carried unanimously.
'Mr. Cardinal moved to reset the awarding of the bids to Thursday night at 8 p.m.
Seconded by Mr. Rosengren. Carried unanimously.
The Clerk read the police report as follows: 2,562 miles driven, 227 business
and home checks, 21 complaints, 12 junk warnings - result 22 junk cars removed,
'7 assists to/by other departments, 7 escapees (2 returned) 4 hours involved,
-4 petty thefts totaling $387.95, 2 stolen autos - total worth $1,200.00, 4 stolen
'items recovered - total worth $2,475.00, 3 accidents, 2 domestics, 2 assaults,
2 legal papers served, 2 medicals, 1 emergency message delivered, 1 burglar alarm
'answered (false), 1 runaway juvenile (returned), 1 aid given to stranged motorist.
W. McShannock was in the audience. W. L'Ailier noted his presence and inquired
about the status of the junk car situation. Marvin Myhre stated that 7 of 9
vehicles had been either removed or cut up for removal and that he had issued no
ticket since some progress had been made.
Mr. Bohjanen moved to pay the bills as audited. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal.
Carried unanimously.
Mr. Cardinal moved to adjourn at 10 :21 p.m. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen.
