184 <br />Mr. Jaworski mentioned that another problem was dumping of tires, furniture and <br />other things on property north of Lilac and east of Sunset. The Attorney determined <br />that this would be parcel 6000 of the SW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 7. Mr. <br />Jaworski moved to contact the owner of.the parcel by letter to make them aware <br />of the problem. Seconded by Mr. LtAllier. Carried unanimously. The Attorney <br />suggested calling the County Treasurer for the owner and his address. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved that another letter be sent to Dick Zelinka concerning his <br />property at the corner of Eim and 49, including a copy of a previous letter on the <br />subject, telling him that if the weeds are not cut, the basement filled in and the <br />place cleaned up that the Village will do the work and assess the costs to the <br />property. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. It was mentioned that <br />this sort of complaint should be taken to the police and the road supervisor rather <br />than the Council. <br />Mr.,Rosengren stated that Baldwin Lake Road was finished. There had been a problem <br />with North Central's gas installation work, but a phone call by the Attorney had <br />gotten quick action. The same was the case with dust control needed on 80th with <br />quick action obtained from the State. <br />Mr. L'Allier noted that State trucks had been hauling water on 24th Ave. from Main <br />Street and that they should water and grade. the road. The grader had gone over, it <br />on Sunday but it was bad again. Mr. Locher was asked to contact the State on this <br />and ask them to fix it up since it was not designated as a haul road.. was noted <br />that Main Street would be closed for three -weeks over the freeway; Mr. Locher was <br />asked to see what the detour would be, in case it would involve 24th. <br />Mr. Rosengren stated that the north one mile of 4th Avenue was blacktopped and the <br />south mile was primed. If there was sufficient money they would do some temporary <br />work on Oak Lane to help with the dust problem. Mr. Jaworski asked if they could <br />run the packer on 4th, but was told it was too soft and must wait for cooler weather. <br />Mr. Rosengren mentioned that Mr. Backlin had been keeping an eye on the construction <br />of the new building; the cement should be finished by the end of the week. <br />Mr. Rosengren stated that Mr. Lundgren wanted $7.50 per hour this year for cutting the <br />weeds along the roads; this would come to about $525 total., Mr. Jaworski moved <br />to hire Bob Lundgren at $7.50 per hour using his. own rig to out the weeds. Seconded <br />by Mr. Rosengren. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Rosengren stated that he had looked at a broom for sale in Hastings. The price <br />was $285, but he had been unable to talk with the owner; he will check back on this <br />as well as on other equipment which is for sale. <br />Mr. Rosengren reported that trucks had been hauling. today on Rolling Hills Drive <br />which is posted at 3 ton limit. This contractor is hauling dirt, to make roadways <br />into the Otter Lake Hills plat; however, a borrow pit permit is necessary, and it <br />is probable that some Villageproperty is being moved. Mr. Locher suggested that the <br />Engineer check the work to see if,the right. of ways are being followed. <br />Mr. L'Allier read the police report as follows: 2,548.3 miles driven, 219 business <br />and home checks, 35 complaints, 18 assists to/by other departments, 13 legal papers <br />served, 11 junk warnings (resulted 8 junk cars removed),,6 accidents (car and <br />airplanes), 6 cases of vandalism, 5 stolen items - total worth $720.00, 2 stolen <br />items recovered - total worth $60.00, 4 escapees - time involved 1 hr. 45 min., 5 <br />domestics, 2 medicals, 2 downed,power lines attended, 1 house fire, and 1 dog bite. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
