A large audience was in attendance including members of the part time police <br />forces of Lexington, Circle Pines, Centerville and Lino Lakes, County officials including <br />the County Administrator and Commissioner Kordiak. Persons seated at the table included <br />Mayor Benjy Munson of Lexington, Mayor Lende Anderson of Circle Pines, Sheriff Talbot, <br />County Attorney Bob Johnson, Bill Mavity from the Metro Council Criminal Justice Dept., <br />Robert Drowns, author of the combined proposal, as well as members of the Lino Lakes <br />Council. <br />Mayor L'Allier called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m., noting the purpose of the <br />meeting to discuss the alternatives for future policing of this area <br />Mr. Mavity, who had to leave early for another committment, was asked for his thoughts. <br />He stated that he was not here to support one position over another on the law enforce- <br />ment program to be adopted. Mr. Mavity had reviewed the combined proposal for policing <br />and felt that it would qualify for Federal assistance since a high priority is placed <br />on proposals which lend themselves to a high degree of cooperation between various <br />agencies. Be noted that Federal assistance is no panacea for the solution of local <br />problems. W. Mavity stated that the proposal could serve as a model of coordination <br />III <br />for the Law Enforcement Agency and that it would give a greater degree of cooperation. <br />It would meet the priorities. <br />
