The ballot must <br />be signed by the Mayor end returned by-December 30. <br />There was no old business. <br />Mr. Lee Robinson stepped forward to ask why all "the garbage was lying behind his <br />place, and proferr3d 3 colored photographs taken bday of the garbage, including meat <br />scraps and milk in cartons. He stated that the dumpingof the material was authorized <br />by Mr. Rosengren and was composed of the rubbish of Gordon's Corner store which recently <br />lamed. Mr. Jaworski noted that he had gotten a couple calls on the subject, which <br />reported that throe were crates of lettuce, etc;, which could eventually draw rats. <br />Mr. Rosengren replied that only parts of the building were to have been hauled in and <br />then covered. Mr. Robinson stated that if he got no action here he would take the <br />matter higher up. The Clerk stated, after a question from Mr. Robinson, that Mr. <br />Astrup of the County Health Dept. had stopped by this afternoon and had stated that <br />the garbage was in violation of the new County ordinance on solid waste dispot . <br />There was considerable discussion on the subject with Mr. Rosengren noted tart the <br />fill was to be used for a driveway into the property, of which he is part owner. <br />Mr. Rosengren also stated that he had called both the Attorney and theEngineer pri9r <br />to.the dumping and had gotten approval to haul in cement blocks and iton. This was <br />tt havehhe4n from the hardware store; the haulers were going to pick over the scrap <br />for salvageable iron. Mr. Bohjanen noted that the hauler had scraped off everything <br />from the location and the garbage was mixed in with the other scrap. Mr. Rosengren <br />commented that this was only half of the materiel; that the rest had been taken <br />somewhere in Ham Lake Twp. <br />Mr. Rosengren stated that he would call the hauler in the morffiing; Mr. Rosengren <br />would like to talk with the County man too. After more discussion, Mr. Cardinal <br />moved that we direct a letter to the hauler reminding him thi he is in violation <br />of both County and Village ordinances on solid waste dispoeale and that he is to clean <br />all the garbage out of the solid scrap within 5 days of receipt of the letter. Copies <br />of the letter should be sent to Mi. Astrup, Mr. Locher and all the Council members. <br />Also, a letter should be written to Mr. Astrup asking him to send notification when <br />the garbage has been cleaned up. A copy of this ]titter will be sent to the hauler. <br />Motion seconded by-Mr. Bohjanen.
