Mr. Lee Robinson stepped forward to ask why all "the garbage was lying behind his place, and proferr3d 3 colored photographs taken bday of the garbage, including meat scraps and milk in cartons. He stated that the dumpingof the material was authorized by Mr. Rosengren and was composed of the rubbish of Gordon's Corner store which recently lamed. Mr. Jaworski noted that he had gotten a couple calls on the subject, which reported that throe were crates of lettuce, etc;, which could eventually draw rats. Mr. Rosengren replied that only parts of the building were to have been hauled in and then covered. Mr. Robinson stated that if he got no action here he would take the matter higher up. The Clerk stated, after a question from Mr. Robinson, that Mr. Astrup of the County Health Dept. had stopped by this afternoon and had stated that the garbage was in violation of the new County ordinance on solid waste dispot . There was considerable discussion on the subject with Mr. Rosengren noted tart the fill was to be used for a driveway into the property, of which he is part owner. Mr. Rosengren also stated that he had called both the Attorney and theEngineer pri9r to.the dumping and had gotten approval to haul in cement blocks and iton. This was tt havehhe4n from the hardware store; the haulers were going to pick over the scrap for salvageable iron. Mr. Bohjanen noted that the hauler had scraped off everything from the location and the garbage was mixed in with the other scrap. Mr. Rosengren commented that this was only half of the materiel; that the rest had been taken somewhere in Ham Lake Twp. Mr. Rosengren stated that he would call the hauler in the morffiing; Mr. Rosengren would like to talk with the County man too. After more discussion, Mr. Cardinal moved that we direct a letter to the hauler reminding him thi he is in violation of both County and Village ordinances on solid waste dispoeale and that he is to clean all the garbage out of the solid scrap within 5 days of receipt of the letter. Copies of the letter should be sent to Mi. Astrup, Mr. Locher and all the Council members. Also, a letter should be written to Mr. Astrup asking him to send notification when the garbage has been cleaned up. A copy of this ]titter will be sent to the hauler. Motion seconded by-Mr. Bohjanen. Carried unanimously. Mr. Bohjanen moved broom will be held be held to await a Mr. Bohjanen moved unanimously. DECEMBER 1970 PAYROLL to pay the bills as audited except that the check written for the until thebroom arrives, and the bill for the flag pole rope will donation for same. Seconded by Mr. Rosengren.
