252 <br />12/28/70 <br />The regular meeting cf the Lino Lakes Village Council held on December 28, 1970, <br />was called to order at 8:01 P.M. bar Mayor with all members present. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved to accept the minutes of the regular meeting of December 14th <br />as written. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried with Mr. L'Allier abstaining. <br />* paragraph, out of sequence. <br />Mr. Bohjanen moved to issue cigarette licenses to the following applicants: <br />Luther LeVesseur, Mrs. James A. Peterson (Baldwin Lake Motel), Henry J. Speiser <br />and Henry Rosengren, contingent to Mr. Locher's approval of the applications. <br />Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried with Mr. Rosengren abstaining. <br />Mr. L'Allier moved to purchase two copies of theVillage Handbook from the League <br />of Minnesota Municipalities at a cost of $7.50 each. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. <br />Carried unanimously. <br />The Clerk reported that a bid for animal control services had been submitted by <br />Bruce Fleming. It was decided to table the matter until the next meeting. A <br />letter from North Central Public Service Co. regarding a raise in gas rates was <br />passed around. The Clerk also reported that the lists of registered voters had been <br />completed. There was some discussion on the gas rate increase. Mr. Locher was <br />asked to check the details for the next meeting; the Clerk was to check the minutes <br />to see what percentage increase had been okayed. <br />Mr. Cardinal reported that Mrs. Kemnitz had asked the P&Z for a permit for their <br />trailer house while they are repairing fire damage in their home at the corner of <br />County Road J and Baldwin Lake Road (old LeTourneau property.) The P&Z had recom -- <br />mended granting one 90 -day permit. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved to grant a 90-day temporary trailer permit to Mr. and Mrs. <br />Jerry Kemnitz, at the corner of County Road J and Baldwin Lake Road, allowing them <br />time to remodel their home which was partially burned out. Seconded by Mr. Boh- <br />janen. Carried unanimously. The Clerk was asked to send a certification of this <br />action to Mr. Dupre. <br />1 <br />Mr. Cardinal presented Mr. W. R. Lewis who had been invited to show the Council <br />some reconditioned used time clocks. Mr. Lewis presented material on two models: <br />1) Simplex, using semi- monthly cards plus rack and 500 cards for $80.00; 2) Simplex, <br />using weekly time cards, plus rack and 500 cards for $105.00. Mr. Lewis would <br />install the machine which would be guaranteed for 6 months. After discussion Mr. <br />Cardinal moved to purchase the weekly Simples reconditioned timeclock, including <br />500 cards and 25 -card rack, from Mr. Lewis at a cost of $105.00, including installation <br />and a six months guarantee. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried unanimously. Mr. <br />Lewis will contact Mr. Rosengren when he is ready to install the clock; it will <br />probably be located in the shop office. <br />Mr. Cardinal reported that the P&Z had discussed sign permit application #39 by <br />Skelly Oil, who wished to install a 100 foot sign adtertising both the gas station <br />and the restaurant. Mr. Gotwald had recommended against allowing the sign. Mr. <br />Jim Winters of the Skelly engineering department stated $hat they had checked the <br />area with a broom and found that 65 feet was the minimum height for visibility <br />above the trees; 65 feet is the maximum allowed under our ordinance. The type <br />of sign Skelly wants has the food sign at 65 feet and the Skelly sign at 100 feet.I <br />There was considerable discussion. <br />* Mr. Bohjanen moved to accept the minutes of the special December 210 meeting as <br />written. Seconded by Mr. Rosengren. Motion carried with Mr. L'Allier abstaining. <br />
