1 1 The first regular meeting of the year of the Lino Lakes Village Council was called to order on January 11. 1971 at 8:10 P.M. by Mayor L'Allier with all members present. Rev. Kenneth Willard of Gethsemane Methodist Churci was asked to giore an invoca- tion dedicating the new building and the new year. Mr Andrew Cardinal was sworn in for a three -year term as Trustee. Mr. Myhre, Constable, was not present at this time to be sworn in. Mr. Jaworski moved to accept the minutes of Dec. 28, 1970 as corrected. Seconded by Mr. Rosengren. Carried unanimously. Mayor L'Allier announced the presentation of the annual Citizen of the Year Award, which is given to a Lino Lakes citizen who has been a dedicated citizen and has worked unselfishly for the good of the people. After reading the highlights of her life, mayor L'Allier presented the Award to Lena Billik who has spent so many years working with the children in Sunrise Park. Pictures were taken . Mayor L'Allier stated that he would read the list of offdcials he wished to appoint ; if there were any objections, the Council would take a vote at that point. Mr. L'Allier moved that the following be appointed: Acting Mayor Clerk - Treasurer Deputy Clerk Engineer Attorney Building Inspector Assessor Asst. Weed Inspector Animal Control Civil Defense Director Fire Marshall Liaison to Gas Utilities Mr. Jaworski June L. Fmerton (the matter of salary would be taked up later.) Carolyn Howard Milner W. Carley & Assoc., specifically George Gottwald Babcock & Locher, specifically Landol Locher Albert Dupre Edna L. Sarner R. V. Fllingsen (the Mayor is Weed Inspector) Bruce Fleming, same bid as last year Charles W. rape John R. Juleen William Blaylock Accountant Waldemar Hill Mr. L'Allier noted that we would forego appointing a roads and parks superivsor since the Personnel commission was looking into the matter of hiring a fulltime man for this position, with a target date of 2 months. He wished to see us continue with Roy Backlin acting as temporary Roads and Parks Sunervisor until a decision is made. Plumbing- Tns ector Winfield West Heal h Ins ec`.or Dr. Midboe, temnorarily. We have requested the County to give us professional service at little cost; they have indicated looking favorably on our request; we hone to hear before the brochure is nrinted.
