1 <br />1 <br />The first regular meeting of the year of the Lino Lakes Village Council was <br />called to order on January 11. 1971 at 8:10 P.M. by Mayor L'Allier with all <br />members present. <br />Rev. Kenneth Willard of Gethsemane Methodist Churci was asked to giore an invoca- <br />tion dedicating the new building and the new year. <br />Mr Andrew Cardinal was sworn in for a three -year term as Trustee. Mr. Myhre, <br />Constable, was not present at this time to be sworn in. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to accept the minutes of Dec. 28, 1970 as corrected. <br />Seconded by Mr. Rosengren. Carried unanimously. <br />Mayor L'Allier announced the presentation of the annual Citizen of the Year <br />Award, which is given to a Lino Lakes citizen who has been a dedicated citizen and has <br />worked unselfishly for the good of the people. After reading the highlights of her <br />life, mayor L'Allier presented the Award to Lena Billik who has spent so many years <br />working with the children in Sunrise Park. Pictures were taken . <br />Mayor L'Allier stated that he would read the list of offdcials he wished to appoint ; <br />if there were any objections, the Council would take a vote at that point. <br />Mr. L'Allier moved that the following be appointed: <br />Acting Mayor <br />Clerk - Treasurer <br />Deputy Clerk <br />Engineer <br />Attorney <br />Building Inspector <br />Assessor <br />Asst. Weed Inspector <br />Animal Control <br />Civil Defense Director <br />Fire Marshall <br />Liaison to Gas Utilities <br />Mr. Jaworski <br />June L. Fmerton (the matter of salary would <br />be taked up later.) <br />Carolyn Howard <br />Milner W. Carley & Assoc., specifically <br />George Gottwald <br />Babcock & Locher, specifically Landol Locher <br />Albert Dupre <br />Edna L. Sarner <br />R. V. Fllingsen (the Mayor is Weed Inspector) <br />Bruce Fleming, same bid as last year <br />Charles W. rape <br />John R. Juleen <br />William Blaylock <br />Accountant Waldemar Hill <br />Mr. L'Allier noted that we would forego appointing a roads and parks superivsor since <br />the Personnel commission was looking into the matter of hiring a fulltime man for <br />this position, with a target date of 2 months. He wished to see us continue with <br />Roy Backlin acting as temporary Roads and Parks Sunervisor until a decision is made. <br />Plumbing- Tns ector Winfield West <br />Heal h Ins ec`.or Dr. Midboe, temnorarily.
