4 <br />Mr. Locher reported on present status of the Ditch Fund. <br />Mr. L'Allier moved that Mr. Ken Bryant be completely reimbursed for his net salary <br />IIIper day (for 2 days) while he attend the CD courses. Seconded by Mr. Rosengren, carrie <br />Mr. L'Allier moved that retroactive to Jan. 1, 1968, the CD Director be paid $25 per <br />month, up to $300 per year, for necessary expenses incurred for the CD. (Mr. Locher <br />read from Ord. #19 stating that no salary could be paid a CD Director.) Seconded <br />by Mr. Rosengren, carried. <br />The police reported that for Dec. 1967, they had assisted at 3 accidents, had 1 <br />medical assist, had 2 domestic calls, had 3 cars towed off roads, made 10 trips to <br />Anoka and 2 trips to the Youth Center; in all had driven 1,524 miles. No hourly <br />breakdown was given. <br />Mr. Bohjanen, with the most senority on the Council, was appointed by Mr. L'Allier to <br />be the Acting Mayor for 1968. <br />Mr. Rosengren asked for progress on the break -in involving some $1,200 damages total. <br />Mr. Locher replied that he had verbally submitted a claim and was still negotiating. <br />One of the boys' fathers had said he would pay all costs. The charge was reduced from <br />burglary to malicious destruction. It was decided that if the case was not resolved <br />by next meeting that we would submit a claim to the insurance firm. <br />The Park Board was instructed to take the necessary steps to draw up an ordinance <br />creating a Park Board with authority and control of monies within the Parks and <br />Playgrounds Fund. This would be the first step to make us available for State and <br />Federal funds and would help to improve our parks. This should be given to Mr. <br />Jaworski at the next Park Board Meeting. <br />Mr. Harold M. Hansen stepped forward to read the letter he had received from the <br />Clerk denying him Village maintenance of his road. After a heated discussion, Mr. <br />Hansen agreed to work with the Attorney on procedures to dedicate his road to the <br />Village and to sign a waiver to accept partial maintenance. Mr. Gotwald will check <br />the road and obtain the legal description of same. <br />Mr. Jim Guber, from Lakeview, inquired why the skating rinks were not being plowed. <br />Mr.Rosengren stated that the tractor was not running and moved that we have it over- <br />hauled if feasible, up to a cost of &150 for parts and labor.
