e3 <br />Parks: The Council will be asked to consider passing an ordinance which will enable <br />us to create a park board in order to be eligible for state and federal park <br />grants. <br />Roads: Abolish the position of Road Supervisor and name a Working Foreman in- <br />stead; pay slightly more than truck drivers. The Trustee in charge of roads <br />would get mileage at 9V per mile besides regular Council pay. <br />Voter Registration: this will be necessary within two years under recent law <br />when the number of voters reaches 800. <br />Phone calls: calls to Councilmen would then be directed only to the Councilman <br />in charge of area of complaint. <br />Clerk: perhaps next year the Village Hall can be kept open for business for <br />four hours daily, five days a week. <br />Try to reach our objectives with the Youth Center, the Post Office and others. <br />We must see our Village in terms of the future. <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br />Mr. Bohjanen moved to accept the application for a kennel license by Mr. Wm. Morrison <br />of 6297 Hodgson Road. Seconded by Mr. Rosengren, carried. <br />Mr. Rosengren moved to release the bond held for Johnson Bros. on the first series <br />of borrow pits as the Engineer stated that all work was satisfactorily completed. <br />Seconded by Mr. Cardinal, carried. <br />The clerk read the list of cigarette licenses which had been issued. <br />A request from Mr. Ralph Nathe of the "49" Club for Sunday liquor was read. Mr. <br />Rosengren moved that the Attorney draft an ordinance to issue Sunday lig(uar licenses, <br />that we have the State Inspector check the "49" Club and make his recommendation <br />to Mr. Locher, that if theordinance is published in the paper by Friday, Jan. 12, 1968, <br /># 31-B, the ordinance to be considered passed, then the Attorney should instruct <br />the Clerk to issue a license to Nathe Bros. upon receipt of $100 payment, good until <br />June 31; with a copy of the ordinance to be sent to the Liqudr Control Commissioner. <br />Seconded by Mr. Cardinal, carried. (Ordinance was passed.) <br />Mr. Miller read the ending fund balances for 1967. <br />Mr. Rosengren inquired whether funds in the Debt Redemption Fund could be transferred. <br />Mr. Locher replied that no funds could be transferred until all bonds are paid in full. <br />The Clerk was instructed to check with Mr. Hill on the amount still owed on St. Bond #2. <br />Mr. Bohjanen reported that the C&BDC had <br />should have the new signs very soon. He asked that the <br />Clerk write a letter to Commissioner Bob Burman, asking him to attend the next Council <br />Meeting and indicate the plans of the County for road work in Lino Lakes for 1968. <br />If he accepts the press should be notified. <br />Mr. Rosengren stated that he would be working on cost estimates on a couple of roads <br />over the next few months. He asked the Clerk to report on the total gas gallonage <br />used by the Village in 1967. <br />
