8
The clerk was asked to bring the bills for review at each meeting.
The Personnel Commission Report was read. It was recommended that the Village not
hire a fulltime man until we have the necessary equipment required to keep a man
busy 40 hours a week. Dennis Houle mentioned the possibility of renting such heavy
equipment. Mr. Bohjanen asked that the Clerk make copies of the report for each
Council member and place one on file. Also the Road Department should check into
such rentals and purchase of equipment.
Mr. Gotwald stated that the State denied our request to put up a Village entrance
sign at the junction of Hwys 8 & 49. The State will erect signs reading "Lino
Lakes" at the boundaries on 49 and on 8 and at the junction of 49 & 8. Mr. Gotwald
and Mr. Bohjanen will get together to locate private property on which to place
our entrance sign.
Mr. Jaworski moved that copies of the minutes of all boards be kept on file in
separate folders at the Village Hall. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Carried.
Mr. Bohjanen moved that the Council authorize Mrs. Emerton to have her typewriter
repaired at a sum of $8.50 at Village expense, provided she uses it for Village
work. Also that we look into the purchase of a new Village typewriter when the
budget allows. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski, carried.
The next CD meeting will be February 14.
Mr. Locher read a letter from Mrs. Betts concerning a run -down bldg she rents and
in which she also keeps hay and feed for her horses. The Council ordered Mr.
Cardinal to set up a meeting with the Atty and the Bldg. Insp. to inspect this
property. Mr. Gotwald will check the acreage.
Mr. Robert Anderson told the Council that he will clean up his property located
between Mr. Rosengren and Hoffman's Auto Parts as soon as the weather permits.
A letter from Mrs. Warner stated that they are still trying to have the cars
removed from the Leo Peppin property.
The Park Board will study the possibilities of purchasing Lot 17, Block 5, Lex-
ington Park- Lakeview, belonging to Eugene Evans who has not been paying the taxes,
and upon which is an old, condemned concrete garage.
Mr. McShannock of Hodgson Road appeared again to complain about the messy condition
of the Ford property adjoining him. He was asked to take this up at the police
meeting.
1
Mr. Robert Burman, County Commissioner, spoke to all present concerning future
county road work in Lino. He also mentioned current law enforcement training and
and that the sheriff's radio is available to everyone for law - enforcement purposes.
He praised Lino's CD unit as the best in the County. Mr. Burman stated that he
had been informed by the State that Hwy 8 will become a County road from the
south line up to the junction with Hwy 49 and from Hwy 326 up to 35 sometime in
'69 or'70. The road from the new park down toward Birch Street will be made
subject to securing a right -of -way. Co. Rd. 54 will be up- graded soon. He will
ask that the East Co.
