Mr. Bohjanen mentioned that the Anoka Co Planning & Development Committee of <br />Anoka Co. Association of Municipalities, hoped this year to come up with a plan <br />to coordinate its 21 separate governing bodies with the County and State on var- <br />ious codet, etc. <br />Mr. Rosengren stated that due to the light snowfall little road maintenance work <br />had been needed but they have been working on the equipment and on cost estimates. <br />He asked that the Council consider the future building of a metal storage building <br />for all the Village equipment which does not fit into this garage. <br />Mr. Rosengren stated that the Village chain saw was not in adequate condition for <br />necessary tree removal and that the Council should consider buying a new one in <br />the near future. He will check prices. <br />Mr. Bohjanen, after some discussion, moved that payroll employees be paid once a <br />month. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal, carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Backlin stated that the discussions with Oneka Twp were still pending. <br />Mr. L'Allier proposed the following wages: Mechanic -- $3.60 /hr., Drivers and labor - <br />ers-- $2.35/hr. plus a chauffer's license, Clerk- Treasurer -- $1800 /yr. plus 9f/ mileage <br />(not to be paid for meetings or special meetings; Deputy Clerk-- $2.35/hr. plus 9 O <br />mileage same as Clerk; Bldg. Inspector - -2/3 of building permit fees; Weed inspector - <br />$2.35/hr.; Police--Mr. Raymond-- $200/mo., Mr. West-- :185/mo., Mr. Myhre-- $75 /mo. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved that the Council accept these wages for 1968. Seconded by Mr. <br />Jaworski, carried. <br />Mr. Rosengren moved that the Assessor be paid $1800 per year, with no mileage. <br />Seconded by Mr. Cardinal, carried. <br />After much discussion, Mr. L'Allier moved that the position of Road Supervisor be <br />abolished and that it be replaced by that of Working Foreman at a wage of $2.75/hr. <br />Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Vote: Yes Mr. Jaworski, Mr. Cardinal, and Mr. L'Allier. <br />No: Mr. Rosengren and Mr. Bohjanen. <br />It was agreed to hold off naming the Road Study Commission until next meeting. <br />There was some discussion about policing of snowmobiles. <br />The first meeting of the Mayor and thepolice with the public was announced for <br />February 14 at 8 PM. <br />The Clerk was instructed to invite Mr. Dupre to the next P&Z meeting on Feb. 21 to <br />hear the responsibilities of the Building Inspector. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved that the Council authorize Mr. L'Allier to work on a resolution <br />with the adjoining communities to ask the county for an estimate of the cost of <br />policing the whole area by the county. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal, carried. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved that Mr. L'Allier write to Mr. Maurice Chandler, of the State <br />and Community Planning Agency to request that he or a member of his staff hold a <br />joint meeting with the Council, P&Z and C&BDC, to present their ideas on the 27th <br />of °February. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen, carried. <br />Mr. Bohjanen moved that the Clerk request Mr. Hill to report on the audit at the <br />next meeting on February 12. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski, carried. <br />Announcement was made of the next League of Municipalities meeting on Jan. 31 at <br />8 PM in Columbis Heights. <br />
