88
Mr. Dick Olson was called forward to discuss his trailer and basement. He
was told that he must obtain a permit from the Council in order to live in
his basement, that this must bear his signature and include an expiration
date. Mr. Olson stated that his trailer had left that day and that he was in
the basement and had put in a new furnace rated at 150,000 BTU. He said that
he planned to keep right on building as best he can. Mr. L'Allier thought
that if we were not setting a precedent it would be all right to issue Mr.
Olson a permit for this specific case as long as it did not bind future councils.
Mr. Bohjanen moved to grant a permit to Mr. Dick Olson to live in his base-
ment on a one-year basis, renewable after he comes before the Council for
discussion; said permit issued as the basement is in liveable condition and
due to hardship conditions. Fee for permit to be $1.00. Seconded by Mr.
Jaworski. Carried.
Mr. Dupre reported that he had inspected Mrs. LeTourneau's garage which seemed
in good condition but was not on footings. Fee for moving is to be $25.00 and
garage permit to be $2.50, both of which Mrs. LeTourneau has agreed to pay. Mr.
Cardinal thus moved to issue the permit for the garage and the moving permit
with the stipulation that the footings be completed within 30 days, also con-
tingent upon payment of the fees amounting to $27.50. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski.
Carried.
Mr. Dupre also recommended that the Council give consideration to punishment
for those persons not getting permits before moving in a building.
Mr. Bohjanen moved that the date for Mrs. Flanagan's letter of survey to be
put before the Council be set for 30 days from now (Oct. 14). Seconded by
Mr. Jaworski. Carried.
Motion to pay the bills as audited made by Mr. Bohjanen, seconded by Mr.
Jaworski. Carried.
Mr. Jaworski moved to adjourn at 11:20, seconded by Mr. Cardinal.
