1 <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to deny the request of the waiving of theappeal bond (which <br />guarantees the payment of defense costs if the Johnsons lose the case). <br />Seconded by Mr. Rosengren. Carried. <br />Mr. L'Allier read a prepared list of hopeful accomplishments for the Village for 1969: <br />I. PLANNING <br />1 A. Revise our Building Ordinance or give consideration to adopting the <br />American Uniform Building Ordinance Code, by reference. <br />B. Revise our Mobile Home Ordinance. <br />C. Pass a Plumbing Ordinance. <br />D. Pass an Underground Utility Ordinance <br />B. Hire a professional planner to review the first segment of our proposed <br />zoning maps (completed in 196g). To hold down the expense, we could hire <br />a planner on a per diem basis. <br />F. Have the Council and Planning and Zoning Committee further hefine the <br />proposed zoning map. <br />II.. LAND PURCHASE <br />A. Give serious consideration toexercising our option to purchase property <br />now owned by Mr. and Mrs. William Waldoch. <br />B. Conduct an informal survey to determine if the citizens of Lino Lakes <br />would like to have the matter of a village hall put on the November, <br />1969 ballot. <br />III. PARKS <br />A. Hire a planner or, preferably, work with our own engineers to formulate <br />a perk plan for the development of our present parks. <br />B. Formulate a long -range park program for both the purchase of additional <br />park land and the development of same. <br />C. Attempt to purchase or lease the 13 acres which are located on the south <br />end of Baldwin Lake, now owned by the St. Paul Water Department, <br />IV. ROADS <br />A. As soon as our village engineer has estimates and recommendations as to <br />our 1969 progress, ask the Road Study Board to meet with the engineer <br />and the Councilmen in charge of roads to formulate a road program for <br />1969. Their recommendations should then be brought back to the Council <br />for their consideration and determination. The Council would then decide <br />upon a short and long -range road improvement program. <br />V. CIVIL DEFENSE AND POLICE <br />A. Purchase a new squad car during the Summer of 1969. (our present squad car <br />is now "on its last leg "j. <br />B. Purchase a citizens band radio for the squad car, forthe purpose of in- <br />stituting communication between the police and the Civil Defense. <br />C. Request the Civil Defense and Civil Defense Auxiliary to formulate an <br />over -all community shelter program. <br />VI. LING LAKES RECEPTION AND DIAGNOSTIC CENTER <br />A. Continue to work for the removal of "hard core" juveniles from this <br />center. <br />B. Ask the Legislature to pass a law limiting the number of people to be <br />housed within the center (this was done for the Red Wing Training School <br />during the 1967 session). <br />and stated "Ithink our job is to undertake necessary planning that will ensure the <br />growth and prosperity of our community. In other words, we should look at our Village <br />in terms of tomorrow, as well as trying to handle the business matters that will confront <br />us in 1969." <br />
