• ') <br />Mr. Jaworski stated that the Personnel Commission had approved the application of <br />Richard Hauer for the position of assistant constable. His had been the only ap- <br />plication received. After discussion of the length of training and the fact that <br />Mr. Hauer doesn't live within the Village limits although he plans on building here, <br />Mr. Bohjanen moved that we accept Mr. Richard Steven Hauer in the position of As- <br />sistant Constable on a training basis, this to take effect as soon as the report <br />of the Personnel Commission is received by the Clerk; Mr. Hauer will start drawing <br />pay on February 1, 1969. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried. <br />Mr. Bohjanen submitted the following list of names as members of the Community and <br />Business Development Commission for 1969: Mrs. Naomi Zelinka, Mrs. Julia Faymoville, <br />Mrs. Audrey Tauer, Mrs. Vivian Rehbein, Mrs. Phyllis Blaylock, Mssrs. Harold Hansen, <br />John Wright, Charles Gottwaldt, Irvin Zastrow, William Houle, Carlo Sooger, Richard <br />Carlson, Jerome Hauer, Harold Lehman, Kenneth Rehbein, Lee Robinson and Eugene Biom- <br />quist. Several members had dropped out. <br />Mr. Bohjanen stated that he and Commissioner Burman had met to look over Lot 2, Block <br />4, Lexington Park- Lakeview for the purpose of establishing a fair price. Mr. Burman <br />will _submit a selling price of $1.00for the lot, to be used as a ponding area, to <br />the County Board. <br />Mr. Bohjanen also stated that he had talked with neighboring mayors and a Blaine <br />Councilman regarding the exit signs on 35N. Lexington and Circle Pines have sent <br />in a resolution asking for their Village names on an exit sign. The majority still <br />felt that a meeting would be beneficial. <br />Mr. Rosengren reported that the trucks had been kept busy plowing snow and that <br />they were out of sand until the supplier gets more. Mr. Rosengren moved that <br />$150.00 worth of hand tools be purchased for the shop, including 1/2" and 3/4" <br />socket sets, to be kept in a locked box. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried. Mr. <br />Rosengren will shop around for used items. <br />Mr. Rosengren also stated that a new tandem truck and plow would be needed by next <br />winter. He also felt that the Council should once again consider hiring a full -time <br />man for the roads. Mr. Rosengren inquired whether the Council wished to acquire the <br />Twitchell Cemetery and maintain same. This will be considered later. <br />Mr. Rosengren had located a used IBM typewriter at Fran Shaeffer Realty on Highway <br />65. The Clerk was asked to take a look at it. <br />Mr. Rosengren also asked about buying the land on which we have an option since it <br />is not necessary to put it on the ballot. The Clerk was instructed to call Mr. <br />Bob Martin of Springsted, Inc. to ask him to bring bond issue material on Village <br />Halls to thenext meeting. <br />Mr. L'Allier mentioned an Anoka Association of Municipalities meeting on Wednesday <br />in Coon Rapids with Dean Lund discussing tax disparties in the Metro area. <br />Mr. L'Allier mentioned that the police car was deteriorating rapidly and that a <br />new one would be needed within three months. Mr. West will get specifications <br />from Circle Pines. The Clerk was asked to gather the necessary information on <br />police car depreciation as soon as possible so that a bill can be submitted to the <br />Legislature. <br />Mr. West reported that a good used 357 magnum revolver could be purchased from the <br />Great North Trading Post for $50.00 difference on the old one. Mr. L'Allier moved <br />that this purchase be made. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried. <br />
