130 <br />Mr. Bohjanen mentioned that the Information Guides had gone to the printer and <br />should be ready in one or two weeks. He will see that the meeting date for <br />the Personnel Commission is inserted. <br />Mr. Rosengren stated that he had talked with County Highway Officials regarding <br />the bill for work in 1967 and was not at all satisfied with their explanation <br />of some of the charges. However he had been told that if the bill were not <br />paid immediately the County would discontinue all services. <br />Mr. Rosengren mentioned that there was some water in the Lakeview area but <br />that the ditch dug last year had helped a great deal. <br />After discussion Mr. Rosengren moved that the Village pay to Mrs. Lena Billik <br />the cost of the broken glasses sustained in her fall on the rink, this to be <br />paid out of Park funds. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried. <br />Mr. Jaworski and Mr. Rosengren *ill look into the possibility of moving an <br />older small house presently in the Village into Sunrise Park to be used as e <br />caretaker's cottage. <br />There had been more complaints on snowmobiles coming too close to homes, etc. <br />Apparently Anoka County is drawing up a new ordinance regarding same which <br />includes a curfew. <br />After some discussion it was decided that at the first meeting in June we would <br />decide on exercising our option to buy the 30 acres offered by Mr. Waldooh. The <br />Council decided that members should take a look at the new building erected at <br />Bunker Prairie Park as having possibilities for the type of Muni6i.pal building <br />we may wish to build. <br />Mr. Gotwald presented plans from the State Highway Department regarding lighting <br />and signs along 35W from Highway 8 to 35E, stating these were the same as the <br />preliminary plans already approved.. Mr. Rosengren moved to approve the resol- <br />ution regarding the lighting and signs on 35W. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried. <br />Mr. Bohjanen mentioned that there was a meeting coming up soon in Lexington <br />with State Highway Department officials regarding the exit signs on 35N. <br />Mr. Locher stated that he had met with Jerome Siegel of the St. Paul Water De- <br />partment regarding the lease of the property on Baldwin Lake. They are willing <br />to lease providing that they have a 6 -month concellation clause and that the <br />Village provided $100 -300 thousand dollars insurance. Also, all buildings must <br />be temporary structures and removed within 30 days after termination of the <br />lease. They want the right to put in a pipeline and roadway rahter than a public <br />road. The Park Board had felt that the appraisal had been too high as the <br />ground was too low for building and a great amount of dredging would be neces- <br />sary to make a swimming beach. After some discussion Mr. L'Allier moved that <br />the Attorney be authorized to negotiate a lease with the option to buy after <br />five years at the price now offered; the 6 -month cancellation clause must be <br />deleted. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried. <br />Mr. L'Allier mentioned that a list of items and prices would soon be released <br />by the Municipal Court.. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved that the Mayor, CD Director and Chief Constable be authorized <br />to release voluntary help by Civil Defense members for the Anoka County Water <br />Patrol during spring flooding under our Mutual Aid Agreement. Seconded by Mr. <br />Bohjanen. Carried. <br />
