Carried unanimously.
There was further discussion of the Jandric development pertaining to the
continuance of the development and the building of roads. It was decided that
if we did not hear from them within 30 days we would write requesting a joint
meeting shortly thereafter.
The Planning Board is presently studying the sign ordinance proposed by Naegele
Company and should have a recommendation after their next meeting. Mr. Cardinal
mentioned that there are still two of the three trailer houses still being oc-
cupied in the Village. Mr. Dupre will contact Ken Rehbein on the extension of his
permit. Mr. Schwankl, in the audience, stated that he couldn't move the trailer
now, and that he considered the persons living in it to be a hardship case. How-
ever, the Council felt otherwise and Mr. Bohjanen moved that the extension be given
until March 31 and by then the occupants must be moved out. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal.
Carried unanimously.
There was some discussion on the stucco house which had bean moved in on Highway
8 (49) and was not being occupied. Mr. Locher will check on the owner. Mr. Rosen-
gren then moved that the Clerk write the owner of the house requesting that as
weather permits the house be brought up to Village standards, these to be deter-
mined by Mr. Dupre. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried.
The Clerk inquired of Mr. Cardinal just what Mr. John DeVine had stated was to
be done on the property on which he wanted to put a trailer and was told that
DeVine had planned to fix up the old house on the premises. The Clerk stated
that Mr. DeVine had told her that he did not own the property yet and had told
her of planning to build a new house in a couple years. Mr. Locher will check the
ownership ofthe property before the permit is granted.
The Park Board minutes were read. Mr. Jaworski stated that the Board had discussed
park planning, and will consider the larger-area parks first since the acquisition
of land is becoming more difficult as not too much is available.
The Personnel Commission minutes were read. They had decided to set the monthly
meeting date as the first Tuesday of each month. Mr. Jaworski asked that the
January 4, 1968, recommendation of the Personnel Commission regarding the hiring
of a full-time man be read again. He stated that it was still the concensus of
the Commission that there is still not enough equipment to keep a full-time man
busy 40 hours a week. There was discussion on this since some of the Council felt
that there was plenty of work to be done, but Commission members stated that the
buying of the grader along with the man was turned down because of lack of work
to do. This will be looked into once again in June or July after a compilation
of total hours put in by the Roads Department.
