Motion be Mr. Cardinal, seconded by Mr. Jawor- <br />ski to approve. Carried. <br />7) SF -1392 specifying that communities be allowed to assess persons for weed <br />cutting when those persons don't have it done; if the amount is not paid, then <br />the amount is to put on the taxes by the County. Mr. Locher recommended that the <br />amount to be collected be doubled over the cost in order to cover clerical work. <br />To be corrected. <br />8) HF- 1353 -- concerning Stearns, Washington and Anoka counties soon to reach <br />100,000 population in 1970 census, changing certain conditions and bonding pro- <br />cedure, etc. Motion by Mr. Cardinal, seconded by Mr. Jaworski to favor the bill. <br />Carried. <br />9) A bill amending 387.37, recommending that after 1 year probation, the Sher- <br />iff could not be dismissed from his Civil Service job. Motion by Mr. Jaworski, <br />seconded by Mr. Rosengren to favor the bill. Carried. <br />10) A bill authorizing the district court of the 10th judicial district to <br />have payment of support orders in divorce cases paid to the Clerk of Court to dis- <br />tribute -- putting more teethin the law. Mr. Bohjanen moved, seconded by Mr. Jawor- <br />ski to favor the bill. Carried. <br />11) A bill specifying the completion date of the assessment. If the local Asses- <br />sor is not through by that date, then the County assessor shall complete the work.. <br />Motion by Mr. Rosengren, seconded by Mr. Jaworski, to favor the bill. Carried. <br />12) A bill concerning the representative to the Metro Public Transit Commission <br />from Washington and Anoka Counties, allowing the representative to be chosen by <br />the Mayors, rather than leaving for the Governor to appoint. Mr. Jaworski moved, <br />seconded by Mr. Rosengren to favor the bill. Carried. <br />Mr. Locher stated that he had talked with Jerome Siegel of the St. Paul Water <br />Department who said that our questions on the lease will be submitted to the De- <br />partment.= It will take some time for an answer. <br />Mr. Locher also stated that he had checked the court file concerning the Rolland <br />Johnson case appeal and found that the appeal had been dismissed on Jan. 20, 1969. <br />Mr. Rosengren will check on the price of an industrial vacuum cleaner for the Hall. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved to pay the bills as audited. Seconded by Mr. Rosengren. Carried. <br />Mr. West mentioned that he had received a complaint that the Peppin children were <br />living alone on Rolling Hills Drive. The Welfare Department can't do anything <br />about this until a complaint is signed. Mr. Rosengren moved that we have Mr. <br />Locher and the County Attorney check on this. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Carried. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to adjourn at 11:03 p.m. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal.
