Mr. Juleen, Fire Marshall, reported on the junk being kept at J &W Pickup location <br />on Highway 8, although there was no fire hazard due either to paper or the gas <br />tanks which have been government - inspected and meet state code. The problem of Mr. <br />Bruder conducting a salvage operation which is not permissable in a commercial district <br />was discussed. Mr. Bohjanen moved that the Clerk write Mr. Bruder of J &W Pickup in- <br />viting him to the next Council meeting. Since Mr. Locher mentioned that a special <br />use permit might be necessary to continue his operations, but so that judgement would- <br />n't be made before we X¢ / hear their side of the story he should be invited to the <br />next meeting to tell of his plans. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried. <br />Mr. L'Allier announced that Mrs. Sarner had decided to keep the Assessor's job after <br />all. The Clerk was instructed to write her a note thanking her for her reconsideration. <br />The next public police meeting was set for May 13, with Mr. Locher invited. Mr. Loch- <br />er will ask Judge Forsberg to meet with the police to tell them exactly what he ex- <br />pects of them. Also, no ordinance tickets had been received. <br />Fir. Omer Cardinal asked the Council whether he could park a trailer (just purchased) <br />on a one -acre lot on Peltier Lake as a temporary habitation from May 1 to Oct. 1. <br />After discussion, Mr. Bohjanen moved to have the P &Z consider the matter as well as <br />a possible summer cottage situation for the future. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried. <br />Mr. L'Allier stated that he had testified before a House sub - committee in reference <br />to the Corrections Department to appropriate more money and 43 people, 20 of whom would <br />be additional corrections officers, for the Youth Center. He had told them that it <br />was his opinion that the institution was inadequately staffed in policing and that he <br />approved the idea of the 20 extra policing personnel on the 7 to 11 shift. The bill <br />is not yet out of the sub - committee. <br />Mr. L'Allier also stated that Mr. Plaisance had told him that the State would not <br />contest our claim for policing funds against the Youth Center. This was still in <br />sub - committee. <br />Disposal of the items from the Municipal Court was discussed. Mr. Locher thought <br />that the County would purchase the NW Reports and might be interested in the Minnesota <br />Reports. Mr. L'Allier moved to authorize Mr. Locher to contact the other Village <br />attorneys to attempt to price the items and let bids., providing there would be a <br />rejection clause with the villages having the first chance at the items and than the <br />public. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried. <br />The Clerk was instructed to get the address from Mr. Gotwald for the National Uni- <br />form Building Code and send for same. <br />Mr. L'Allier moved that a letter be sent to the County Commissioners asking them <br />to set up a meeting with Lino Lakes to review the proposed County park plan as a <br />considerable amount of the land in the plan is in Lino Lakes. Seconded by Mr. <br />Jaworski. Carried. <br />After considerable discussion and deletion of parts as recommended by Mr. West, <br />Mr. Cardinal moved that Lino Lakes adopt the Short Form Ordinance regulating individual <br />sewage disposal systems as recommended by the Minnesota Department of Health (1962); <br />this includes the hiring of a plumbing inspector with bonds set, licenses renewable <br />on May 1 yearly, with a license fee of $25.00 „said ordinance to be designated No. 48. <br />Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried unanimously. Mr. Bohjanen stated that Mr. Swedel <br />could not appear and favored the hiring of Mr. West as he, Swedel, would be unable to <br />work as inspector full -time. <br />
