The Clerk will send the list of differences to Mr. Gotwald <br />for study. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to approve the following license applications: off -sale <br />intoxicating for Mrs. Ruth Cegla of Eddie's Liquors, provided that a certif- <br />ication of insurance is received; On -sale and Sunday On -Sale intoxicating, <br />danczing, off -sale 3.2 beer for the '49' Club, provided certification of <br />insurance and licenses fees are received. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Carried. <br />Mr. Bohjanen reported that the C4BDC. had conducted two work sessions on the <br />brochure and plans for the Village flag. He passed around drawings made for <br />possible designs for the flag. Commissioner Burman had mentioned that there <br />was a possibility that an emblem company would do the whole group of flags for <br />the County at a reduced rprice. The finished flag would be 30" by 50 ". <br />On Mr. Bohjanen's request the Clerk was instructed to order two copies of the <br />Chamber of Commerce Directory for the U.S. at a total cost of $5.00. <br />Mr. Gotwald and Mr. Rosengren discussed the road work necessary to be done this <br />year. After the estimates were given, Mr. Rosengren stated that the budget <br />held an extra $15,800 for other roadwork which might be needed later besides. <br />There was discussion on Peltier Lake Road, which now has a drop -off into the <br />lake; two cars cannot pass on most of it. Mr. Bohjanen moved that a letter be <br />written to the St. Paul Water Department asking them on the Engineer's <br />recommendation to dike the bank. Mr. Gotwald will provide the correct working <br />descriptions. Seconded by Mr. Rosengren. Carried. <br />Yr/ Bohjanen moved to authorize Mr. Rosengren to have Shiffsky scarify Ware Road <br />and oil the whole piece at a low cost for the necessary street work; the order <br />to be split for two separate operations so that the toia1 cos 2,000, which would <br />require bids and would not have to be paid at one time. (excluding work <br />done by the Village road Department) would not reach the figure of) Seconded <br />by Mr. L'Allier. Carried. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to authorize the spending of some $2000, at the most, to <br />scarify the north end of Bald Eagle Blvd. and re -oil the whole piece. Seconded <br />by Mr. Bohjanen. Carried. <br />Mr. Bohjanen moved to authorize Mr. Gotwald to draw up bids for seal- coating <br />the Lakeview area streets at an estimated cost of some $6500. Seconded by Mr. <br />Jaworski. Carried. <br />Mr. Gotwald stated thatRolling Hills Drive was in very good shape. Mr. Rosen - <br />gren stated that Fourth Avenue should be re- layed, there were holes to dig out <br />on 80th blading and culvert work to be done on Linda and Laurence, and the <br />County Line needed close watching. Mr. Gotwald thought Pine Street and Bald- <br />win Lake Road needed work soon. Mr. Gotwald will work up a 2 -3 year road <br />work program. <br />The problems of Orange and Maple streets were discussed. Mr. Gotwald thought <br />that work could be started, if a petition were presented, on grading and drain- <br />ing, connecting the two, gravel and blacktopping in the future. Each step could <br />be done on a separate assessment, with the Council having the perogative to do <br />the work at its wish. The property has not been properly surveyed as to road- <br />ways, however, and this would be the initial step before roadwork. <br />
