In
this bill the Metro Council and MAC would have authority to rezone all area with-
in 5 miles of the perimeter of the airport. The mayors had proposed that the
distance be limited to three miles in an amendment. Mr. L'Allier had suggested
that the area be limited to the noise cones (as shown on the map) but received
no support. Also, there would be a temporary halt of all rezoning until the
decision is made so that land could not be changed from agricultural. Mr.
Bohjanen thought that the County and local governments should have the power to
rezone their areas and moved that Lino Lakes adopt a resolution opposing the
zoning bill., the resolution to be sent to the Legislature. Seconded by Mr.
L'Allier. They plan a 70' by 44' structure of concrete
blocks to be built up later as they can afford it. M(r. Locher stated that this
was permissable as long as the building was not to be used as a residence but
only for club meetings; the area is zoned commercial. Mr. Rosengren stated that
the building should not be placed too low as the road will be raised in the area.
Mr. L'Allier moved to approve the plans and authorize the Building Inspector is
issue .a building permit for the structure, and asked that the Council be given
some sort of time schedule for the future construction. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen.
Carried.
Mr. Locher had heard no more on the sale of the Municipal Court properties.
Mr. Dupre inquired about the trailers belonging to Mr. Schwenk" and Mr. Rehbein
as both were still on the lots. He was told that Mr. Schwenk' had sold his
and it was to be moved. Mr. Dupre said that Mr. Rehbein had not gotten any,
trailer permits. The Clerk will check to see if the permit was to be issued for
one year. Also, there is a trailer on County Road J for which no permit has
been issued. Mr. Myhre will check.
There was some discussion on other basements in the Village and then to the
house on Tauer's property on Highway 8.
