84 <br />Motion by Backlin, second by Anderson, that we trade in the old Globe <br />Repaired radio as repairs are no longer economical. Cost of a new radio <br />will be $130.00. Carried unanimously. <br />Speiser reported he had just inspected both rinks and found them to <br />be in good shape, with quite a bit of skating still being done. <br />Also reported on some wires that will need moving in the spring as <br />they are presently chopped off every time a plow crosses the area. <br />Anderson reported he had inspected the area involved for the Langer dump, <br />and personally felt the permit for this dump should not be allowed. <br />Anderson also stated he had talked to the Bldg. Inspector with reference <br />to information needed for the census and estimated roughly an increase <br />of 600 people in the village since 1960. Anderson moved we send our <br />attorney a request to contact the census bureau and see if our census <br />can still be, taken this year. Speiser seconded, the motion carried unan. <br />Domning moved that Mr. Backlin be named as Acting Mayor in the mayor's <br />absence. Second by Speiser, carried unanimously. <br />Domning read a letter received from the Municipal Court, asking each <br />village to pass the following resolution. "Be it resolved that the <br />legislature of the State of Minnesota is hereby requested to pass a <br />law establishing the salary for the position of Judge of the Municipal. <br />Court of Circle Pines, Lexington and Lino Lakes at 51,800 annually, <br />retroactive to January 1, 1965." Domning moved the resolution, Anderson <br />seconded, motion carried unanimously. <br />Domning read a resolution as passed by the County changing the bounty <br />on gopher feet. Domning moved we set the bounty at 25¢; 15¢ to be paid <br />by the village and reimbursement by the county of 100. Seconded by <br />Speiser, carried unanimously. The attorney will check to see if the <br />bill for 1964 was tendered. <br />Mr. Locher stated he had notified the Apple Inn that the last half of <br />the liquor license fee was due for 1964, and was to have been turned <br />in by tonight. The Treasurer is to be contacted to see if the money <br />has been turned in. <br />Mr. Locher is to check and see if new renewal forms are available for <br />on -off licenses. <br />Domning reported a very comprehensive report by the St. Paul Sanitary <br />District had been printed, and that anyone interested could obtain a <br />copy of this report. <br />Police Officer Raymond asked the Council to consider writing a letter to <br />the Youth Center with regard to the laxity in their security areas. <br />Particular cases were cited where escapees were returned without the <br />school being aware an escape had been made. <br />Domning asked the two reporteers present to include in their news that <br />dog licenses are available and thould be purchased as soon as possible. <br />Domning read a resolution passed by the County which stated aerial <br />flight photographs of this area will be available in the near future, <br />more information will be asked for concerning price, availability etc. <br />
