88
Mr. Backlin reported that the truck had needed repairs again this past
week at a cost of approximately $50. Mr. Juleen and Mr. Backlin had
been to Anoka to check on the used equipment discussed at the last
meeting, and both felt the truck for sale would be a good buy.
Backlin moved, with second by Zelinka, that we obtain this truck
with the understanding it would be purchased as three separate items,
each unit under $1,000.00. On the vote, Anderson no, Speiser yes,
Backlin yes, Zelinka yes, Domning yes.
A report was read from Carley Associates indiciating approximate cost
of running a 27" sewer line under 35W prior to the building of the
freeway vs. the cost of installation after completion of the freeway.
George Gottwald explained that a sewer line is laid according to gravity
and that correct elevations for such crossings must be established
by a completed set of sewer plans. Such a study for this area at this
time to establish such crossings would cost approximately $5,000. mini-
mum. This matter is to be discussed again before any decision is made
for such a study to be done.
Gottwald also reported that the matter of the 3" gas main should have
been referred to Circle Pines, and he had so notified the Highway
Department of this mistake.
Mr. Speiser reported a Park Board meeting had been held, and that No.
States Power should be contacted relative to running in a line in
order to have lights at both ends of the park.
Mr. Speiser also brought up the matter of putting stencils on village
equipment, and asked John Juleen to ob ain prices and suitable varie-
ties for village use.
Park #2 was also discussed, and although sufficient funds are not
available for grading, Mr. Speiser asked to have this matter considered
and posIbly transfer funds in order to have this grading and park
improvement done.
Mr. Gottwald will check on the approximate cost of a 2" thick black
topping for the area at the front of the warming house.
Anderson reported that on the 24th of February he attended a Planning
District 2 meeting, and had obtained many maps and extensive information.
On February 24th he attended a House Appropriations Meeting at the
Capital. At this meeting he was allowed a chance to speak in behalf
of the request made last August for closer policing at the Youth Center
by the Center itself.
He attended a House Committee Hearing on sewers on March 3.
Mr. Anderson also stated the village attorney had turned over consid-
erable information on heating and plumbing codes, and that he, Mr.
Anderson had accumulated quite a bit of information which had also
been duplicated to the attorney.
Mr. Domning reported a meeting would be held on March 23 by the County
Board to discuss planning on a county wide level.
1
1
1
