3 <br />The village informed Mr. Anderson they would allow him to run hoses <br />across the road and into a ditch in order to drain off water from <br />around the building, which kept seeping into the basement. (Tom Anderson <br />IIseveral times voiced threats against the council if he suffered any <br />more damage to his property by having to turn on the water.) <br />Also at this meeting the Police .Officers asked permission to purchase <br />a shotgun with necessary mount for the police car; approximate cost <br />$100 for the two items. Domning moved this purchase be made, second <br />by Backlin, motion carried unanimously. <br />Backlin also displayed a barricade with lights of the type needed in <br />the village and asked the council to consider the purchase of two <br />complete sets with flashers. The approximate cost of this purchase <br />would be $139.50. After discussion, Backlin moved the village purchase <br />these barricades, second by Speiser. Motion carried unanimously. <br />A short discussion was also held on the census, and the names of Juleen, <br />Boxrud, Mrs. Hugo Jorgenson, Bohjanen, Anderson, Beecher, Houle, West, <br />Mrs. Harold Hanson, Raymond, Schwankel, Krueger were selected to be <br />contacted to work on the census. Clerk will get out the application <br />forms for the above people to fill out and return immediately. <br />Meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m. <br />The April 12th meeting of the Lino Lakes Council was called to order <br />at 8:00 p.m. Anderson, Backlin, Speiser, Domning and Zelinka present. <br />Dupre absent. <br />Domning moved and Anderson seconded that minutes be accepted as read. <br />Motion carried. <br />Mr. Guggemos and Mr. Glasrud of White Bear Lake presented the Council <br />with information preparatory to a request for a building permit in <br />the southeast corner of the village for a housing development. The <br />2 men will meet with the Planning Commission, after which the Com- <br />mission will give the Council their recommendation. <br />John Lafond asked about the building site for the VFW Club, and voiced <br />an objection th.t it was too close to the residential area on Rustic <br />Lane where he lived. Mr. Handy of the VFW will be invited to the next <br />meeting to discuss the building site. <br />Treasurer's report was read and accepted. <br />Mr. Backlin reported that the recent flood emergency appeared to be <br />about over, although many people were still pumping basements, and there <br />were several washouts and roads that would need extensive repairing. <br />
