Mr. Gottwald reported he represented Lino Lakes at a special meeting in
Anoka, called for the purpose of having villages turn in their estimated
expenses for flood relief. A list showing actual expenditures for
materials, labor etc., will be ready to turn in May llth.
Mr. Backlin reported that the grading will be completed soon on the
Rehbein Road, and the Bladwin Lake Road.
Mr. Backlin requested that the engineer survey to find where the end of
the road comes on 7th Avenue (off Birch). Backlin also motioned, with
second by Speiser, that this road be graded this year. Motion carried.
(Mr. Locher will find out if this is an easement, plotted or otherwise.
Section 29).
Bids will be let soon for oiling of streets.
1
Mr. Speiser reported that rough estimates for grading in the park would
be $500 for one acre, and for a ball field approximately 12 acres would
be around $700. Other considerations discussed were: (1) completing
the 6 acres into a layout for ball diamond, hockey rink, tennis courts
etc., (2) the possibility of holding this land for other purposes and
setting up another park area away from the main highway.
The request for placing of cable by Northwest Bell Telephone was approved
by the engineer, however, on motion by Domning, second by Zelinka,
approval was given with the stipulation that if any further relocation
was necessary, it would be done at the telephone company's expense. Carried.
Mr. Anderson requested to know if a bill had been sent to Hank Rosengren's
for a snowplow for $25.00. Mr. Rosengren will be contacted with refer-
ence to this matter, and also about a safe he has for sale.
Mr. Anderson reported he had examined the property owned by Mr. Guggemos
who had previously contacted the council about a building permit for a
housing development.
Mr. Domning moved that we pay Mr. Houle, the Weed Inspector, at a rate
of $2.25 per hour, within the limit of the budget. Second by Anderson,
motion carried.
Motion by Backlin, second by Speiser, that the bills be approved and
paid.
