104
Aside from park information, Speiser reported on a gopher machine for
sale for .257.00. After discussing the matter, it was suggested we wait
on this until such time as we have a full time village employee. Discus-
sion on a full time employee will be deferred until such time as the full
council is again present. (Mr. Eacklin will be absent first week in July
for vacation.)
Speiser suggested that Sunset be continued all the way through to Highway 8
eliminating the block long street of Pointcross Drive. Mr. Anderson will
write to the Circle Pines Planning Board on this matter.
Anderson reported on the June 16th Planning Board meeting, at which time
the request by Mr. Krech was considered. The North 1/2 of Section 31 and
South 1/2 of Section 31 was also discussed as far as future roads are con-
cerned.
The Planning Board moved at this meeting to invite Dick Shay, Engineer for
the NSSSD to attend the July 21 meeting, and extended a special invitation
to all council members to attend this meeting.
Mr. Anderson finished his report by announcing his resignation from the
Council, effective tonight, as he was moving away from the village.
Mr. Gottwald read to the Council the preliminary report which had been pre-
pared by Carley & Associates, as a result of the inquiries from Circle Pines
on future sewer lines. Mr. Domning stated he felt this report could stand
as the official position of the village at this time. Mr. Gottwald was
requested to also obtain from the Circle Pines Engineer the approximate
pricing of the oversizing.
Mr. Gottwald stated he had also investigated the Baldwin Lake area, and
while there was a possibility that a 66' right-of-way could be established
he recommended that the owner of the property where the building is going
on should appear before the council with his building plans before addition-
al property is sold.
The requirements for platting again come up for discussion, and it was
Anderson's recommendation, supported by Domning, that Section 3 on page 34
of the Building Code book be carefully looked at, with the attorney to give
an interpretation and recommend possible changes at the next meeting.
Mr. Locher proposed a change to Village Ordinance #1 to make it technically
the same as the State Law. By redrafting the ordinance, the license could
then contain wording as to date, place, length of time in force, etc. when
special requests are made, such as "one day" only.
Mr. Domning announced the Certificate for the Census had been received, with
the total count established at 3,103.
Mr. Domning moved, seconded by Speiser, that the application of Cegla, Hauer,
Henry Speiser, Robt. Anderson, Nather, Ross and Oasis Lounge for beer and
liquor licenses be approved. Carried unanimously.
