119. <br />Backlin moved we hire John Juleen as mechanic for our trucks at <br />$3.50 per hour. Second by Speiser, motion carried. <br />Speiser reported they had started moving the trees into the park. He <br />also stated they were waiting to order the park signs until the no <br />hunting signs were ordered. Ross moved we order 16 signs, 10 refer- <br />ring to hunting by shotgun, and 6 stating "discharge of all firearms <br />prohibited." Second by Speiser, motion carried. <br />Ross reported that at the Planning and Zoning meeting on the 20th, <br />the entire discussion was on the gas franchise, and that action had <br />been tabled pending further study. <br />Ross also reported that he had talked to the hospital director at <br />Forest Lake, and that Harry Proulx had resigned by reason of moving <br />out of the village. Council should consider a replacement for Mr. Proulx. <br />Ross suggested we have a meeting with the Forest Lake School Board to <br />look into the disposal of the property on the corner of Main Street <br />and Highway 8. Property owned by the school is approximately 22 acres. <br />The letters from Northern States Power on contemplated changes in <br />rates and type of lights were discussed. An officer of NSP will be <br />invited to meet with the Council at a later date to explain the above <br />changes. The police reported that a street light on Rustic Lane had <br />been requested. <br />Bob Raymond inquired if it would be possible for the Assessor to inquire <br />as to the number of dogs owned by each resident at the same time as she <br />is doing tax assessments. No specific action taken. <br />Harold Lehman approached the Council for a building permit, and after <br />discussion, Mr. Locher recommended Mr. Lehman see Ben Skurdel in <br />the Anoka County Abstract Office for information on easements, etc. <br />Mr. Kirk, Lakeview Avenue, entered a complaint that since the road <br />work was done in front of his house, he had water coming into his <br />basement. Backlin explained they were cleaning the ditch that had <br />previously existed. The engineer stated only two corrections could <br />be made, either ditching or storm sewers, and the culvert on Gladstone <br />should take care of the problem. Ross moved that Locher check to <br />remove any possible legal problems. Second by Backlin, motion carried. <br />Ross also moved that Gottwald work up a cost estimate on surveys to <br />give to Mr. Backlin. Second by Speiser, carried. <br />Speiser moved we pay the bills, second by Backlin, carried. <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m. <br />#414 - Harvey Hanson, refund of moving house deposit <br />415 - Circulating.
