(A) <br />Treasurer's report read, balance on hand $29,162,68. Discussion was <br />held on investing at least $10,000 in either treasury bonds or bank <br />certificates. Locher will check with bank in Anoka and advise Mrs. Juleen <br />of the information received in order to compare with other information <br />received on investments, <br />Mrs. Juleen also reported that the taxes have been paid on Twilight <br />Acres except for $60.38, and Mr. Rehbein will follow up and pay this <br />amount also. <br />The Resolution drawn up attempting to remove the county line road from the <br />village maintenance overto county maintenace was didscussed, and Backlin <br />moved that duplicate copies be sent to Columbus, Oneka and Forest Lake <br />Townships. Second by Ross, motion carried. L'Allier and Backlin will <br />personally visit each Township to have the Resolution signed. <br />Mr. & Mrs. Burns were present to discuss with the engineer and the Council <br />the condition they felt existed because of the road work being done on <br />Lakeview Avenue. Following discussion, Backlin moved that because of <br />possible future work to be done on water and sewer, that the ditch at <br />this time be sloped with a grader and sodded. Motion was seconded by <br />L'Allier, motion carried. <br />Backlin moved we spend approximately $40 and purchase a small grinder <br />for the shop. Second by Ross. Carried. <br />Backlin, cited the poor conditions on the County Line Road, stating he had <br />talked to the Commissioner of Forest Lake to see if chloride could be <br />put on the road they were using as a detour. Also felt another check <br />should be made with the County Engineers as to their future plans for <br />this road. <br />It was reported all Stop signs are up, including 10-mile-anhour signs <br />in the Park, <br />Jerome Boyd, requested the Council to make repairs on East Rondeau Lake <br />Road. Because of freeway construction, Mr. Boyd must move his home by <br />August 15 to a new location, and the road is not presently in suitable <br />condition over which to move a house. Locher will check to see if this <br />road is a cartway; the engineer will check the area for his recommendation <br />and the matter will again be discussed at the August 8th meeting. <br />Mr, Stanley of Random Realty requested an extension of 600 feet on 77th <br />Street, where he is planning to build homes and sell lots and will need <br />a road. Following discussion, Downing moved that Locher obtain the legal <br />description and write up an agreement that will be acceptable, and to <br />also obtain the right of way, if possible, on the property through to <br />Highway 8, Second by L'Allier, motion carried. <br />Gotwald reported he and Backlin had checked the areas where the Johnson <br />Construction Company will be removing approximately 700,000 yards of <br />fill dirt, and felt a performance bond of $25,000 would be satisfactory. <br />This was also agreeable to the Construction Company, and Locher will <br />write a covering resolution. <br />Following discussion and reading of the Seal bids, Backlin moved we <br />accept the low bid of $5,101,1i2 from Viking Construction.
