175 <br />Ralph L'Allier from Richard Miller of the Minnesota Health Department <br />pertaining to the dump. Domning moved we accept the petition and place <br />on file for future reference. Second by L'Allier, motion carried. <br />Mr. Karth, Centerville Road, discussed a culvert in front of his property <br />that had been filled in with dirt by the Johnson Construction Company, and <br />he feared flooding of his property would result if left that way. Backlin <br />stated he had talked to Johnson already about the culvert, and he would <br />follow through to see it was replaced before freezeup this fall. <br />Al Dupre reported to the Council he had denied a request by Gordon Nelson <br />to issue a building permit to construct a tool and storage shed on Aqua <br />Lane as he felt it was not in accordance with our ordinance. Mr. Nelson <br />who is gardening on the property he owns adjacent to Aqua Lane built the <br />shed in order to have a locked place to keep his equipment. Following <br />discussion Domning stated we would table action until the next meeting so <br />the Council members can all inspect the property and building. <br />Irvin Zastrow from the Lino Cabinet Company discussed the building of a <br />conference table for the Council. He presented drawings for a 12 x 4 <br />table, cost $286.00. Following discussion, Mr. Zastrow will submit two <br />alternate drawings and prices at our next meeting. <br />Herb Johnson, Sunrise Avenue, felt the trees along Sunrise Avenue constituted <br />a hazard to the village. Backlin stated he had discussed this situation <br />with the Rev. Schnitzious, however, they were not agreeable at this time <br />to removal of any of the trees. Even if widened to the property line, it <br />would still only be a 60' right of way. Backlin will talk to Rev. Schnitziou <br />again, and try to have an easement drawn up. <br />Harold Hanson informed the Council the hearing on his property with tI <br />State Highway Department was due to come up late in October, and wanted to <br />know if any further information had been received relative to the service <br />road fronting 35E. He did not feel he was ready for a hearing at this time <br />with the _limited information available. Downing will write to Ray Johnson, <br />Commissioner, for help in this matter. Backlin is to contact the County <br />Engineer and Ross will call and talk to Mr. Fields. During discussion, <br />Ralph L'Allier stated he had also been contacted by the Postmaster relative <br />to what the State intended to do on this service road. <br />Ross moved that we also write to Mr. McCubrey of the State Highway Department <br />asking to be brought up to date on developments pertaining to this service <br />road, and also asking about the proposed maintenace. Second by L'Allier, <br />motion. carried. <br />Bill Bohjanen questioned the article that had appeared in the Circulating <br />Pines, which he felt indicated that village funds were being used to sue the <br />village. L'Allier suggested we have our legal counsel check into this, <br />and request a special meeting with the Utilities Company if the attorney <br />felt it was necessary. <br />The clerk read a letter from North Central indicating their progress to <br />date in laying the gas lines. <br />Notice of the next Anoka County League of Municipalities meeting was read, <br />and it was moved by Backlin, second by Ross, that Downing and L'Allier <br />attend as village representatives. Motion carried. <br />
