F78 <br />The clerk read a letter from American Legion regarding the flat to be <br />presented by Clark MacGregor and extending an invitation for anyone <br />interested to attend. <br />A letter was also read from the Hospital Board in Forest Lake indicating <br />final date for filing for the Board would be October 28. <br />Paul Videen was present indicating he desired permits for residence <br />building in Lakeview-Woodlands Area, and inquired what the road speci- <br />fications would be. He was informed it would be necessary to construct <br />roads to meet village specifications in order for the permits to be issued. <br />An examination of the area indicated approximately 5 miles of streets <br />would.be involved, He will consult with George Gotwald for further <br />information, <br />Harold Gestson, who wishes to build a house in Lakeview Woodlands, (Lot 1 <br />Block 3) asked for help with an unusually long driveway. Following dis- <br />cussion, Mr. Gestson was told he could get a permit to build if he <br />would agree to run his driveway to Oak Lane, and it was understood the <br />village will not maintain the road in any way. The building inspector <br />will be informed in writing of this agreement. <br />Backlin reported progress to date on all 35E service roads. The hearing <br />between Mr. Hanson and the State Highway Department concerning the service <br />road in that area will be the last week in October. The County Commissioners <br />have all indicated they will help in trying to get this situation cleared <br />and get the service road desired by the village and county. Following a <br />lengthy discussion on these service roads, it was moved by Backlin, <br />second by L'Allier, that we try to set up a meeting with the Commissioners <br />to discuss this road situation. Motion carried, <br />Backlin again stressed the urgency of having the easements and necessary <br />papers set up for Mr. Thies to sign in order to get this roadwork com- <br />pleted before winbr. Locher will work with Backlin to get this taken care <br />of immediately, <br />Sodding of Lakeview Avenue is nearly complete, only some clean up work <br />remains. An $1,800 bond will be coming through from Marvin Rehbein for <br />40,000 cubic yards of dirt to be removed from a location on Birch Street <br />near 12th Avenue. <br />Ross moved we charge a fee of $35,00 for permits issued on borrow pits, in <br />addition to the bonds. Second by Backlin, motion carried, <br />Backlin met with the Church Board regarding the trees on Sunrise Avenue. <br />The Church will trim the trees, remove any dead ones, and at such time as <br />the village decides to widen the road, will •then release an easement. <br />An unsigned easement has already been obtained from Mrs. Billik for the <br />adjoining property, however, this will be held until both can be processed <br />at the same time. <br />Ross announced the next Planning and Zoning meeting will be October 19th. <br />Ross also moved we again purchase from the Lyon's Club their annual <br />calender with meetings and other information printed, at a cost of 35. <br />Second by Backlin, motion carried, <br />Ross moved we build 5 more voting booths and look into getting additional <br />parking space.
