All members of the <br />Council were present, Mr. Ross and Mr. Rosengren arriving late. <br />IIIThe purpose of the meeting was threefold: The Council met with the Park Board to discuss <br />the purchase of park property; the Council wished to discuss with the Personnel Review <br />Board its recommendations before accepting or rejecting same; the Council was shown a <br />movie regarding a new process of road stabilization. <br />Mr. Macklin showed his short movie first and provided the Council with snapshots and <br />signed statements and newspaper clippings of the merits of his company's product. The <br />product, spent sulfite liquor from the paper industry, can be used either for road <br />stabilization or dust control. He gave reasons why the sulfite was far superior to oil <br />and stated the equipment and time required. The Village would be given a special rate <br />of 9V per sq. yard, the cost including material, freight and labor. Mr. L'Allier sug- <br />gested that the Council talk over using this material en Bald Eagle Blvd. and Rolling <br />Hills Dr. at the next meeting; Mr. Gotwald has the necessary detail. <br />Mr. L'Allier also presided over the discussions of the Employees Review Committee Report. <br />Mr. Dennis Houle stressed that the report was intenddd to be a long -range program, not <br />necessarily immediate. <br />Electrical Work <br />Mr. Bohjanen made a motion to adopt the suggestion, to take effect August 1, 1967, that <br />any major electrical work which has to be done Should be handled by a qualified licensed <br />electriciah. This type of work should be kept to a minimum and done only upon the <br />approval of the Council. Minor electrical work can be done by Village employees but the <br />Village will not pay electrician's wages, only a wage of $2.35 per hour. Seconded by Mr. <br />Cardinal. Vote: Aye, Mr. Cardinal, Mr. Bohjanen and Mr. L'Allier. No, Mr. Rosengren. <br />III Mechanic <br />Mr. Cardinal made a motion to adopt the suggestion that the wage of $3.60 per hour is <br />sufficient for a good mechanic, butto gain better knowledge of the operating cost of <br />this department, we consider it a must for the mechanic to keep an accurate up -to -date <br />maintenance record of each and every piece of Village equipment, a copy of which is to <br />be kept in the garage and one on file with the Clerk; the Village mechanics should use <br />
