Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen.
Motion carried.
Mr. L'Allier gave a copy of the resolution passed by the Lino Lakes Council to the
Village of Centerville regarding our request of the County to extend the road from
the new County Park to Centerville Road. Mr. L'Allier informed the Council that
Centerville will also write the county requesting same.
Mr. L'Allier stated that he along with Mr. Burman and the Asst. County Engineer
toured the service road along 35E and inspected the road made into the Harold Hansen
property. The Asst. County Engineer informed that upon Mr. Hansen's request they
circled a swamp on his property. Mr. L' Allier stated Mr. Burman informed him that
Anoka County is waiting for other counties to do work on the county line before Anoka
County does anything.
Mr. L'Allier made a motion that we write a letter to the Anoka County Commissioners
that they go on record favoring acceptance of road between Anoka and Washington counties
as a county road and that they do whatever possible to have it accepted as it is now
maintained by four different villages and four different groups or crews of men working
on it, and the denial of counties to accept the road is creating a situation whereby
taxpayers of Lino Lakes are paying for a road which should be maintained by the joint
counties. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Motion carried.
Mr. Locher reported that Mr. West is getting in touch with Mr. Anderson to clean up his
property next to Mr. Rosengren's.
Mr. Bohjanen stated that previously the selection of a 'man of the year' had been dis-
cussed, but when he checked with the attorney Mr. Locher stated that the Village could
not spend any money for such a plaque; however, Mr. John Wright of the Club Oasis,
would donate a plaque. Mr. Ross stated that Mr. Rosengren had ordered a plaque on his
request and if Mr. Wright would be agreeable he could pay for it. Mr. Wright agreed.
Mr. Ross then made a motion that Mr. Ed Houle be appointed "Man of the Year" and the
plaque be presented at the next meeting by Mayor Ralph L'Allier. Seconded by Mr.
Bohjanen. Motion carried.
Mr. Bohjanen who is also liason to the Rice Creek and Coon Creek Watershed felt that
we did not have a detailed resolution covering the watersheds. He felt as did other
members of the Council that such a resolution would show the position of our Village;
therefore Mr. Bohjanen made the motion that the Village of Lino Lakes passes the
following resolution;
Whereas the Village of Lino Lakes is within the drainage area of the Rice
Creek Watershed; and, the Rice Creek is an important drainage outlet from
the Village of Lino Lakes and,
