1 1 1 COUNCIL WORK SESSION CITY OF LINO LAKES COUNCIL MINUTES MAY 6, 1992 DATE'. • TIME STARTED TIME ENDED MEMBERS PRESENT: MEMBERS ABSENT s May 6, 1992 5:00 P.M. 7x00 P.M. Reinert, Neal, None Kuether, E lliott, Bergeson Staff Members present: Public Works Director, Don Volk; City Engineer, Darrell Schneider; Solid Waste Coordinator, Fran Kurk; Marty Aslesen, Parks Director and Clerk Treasurer, Marilyn Anderson. Mayor Reinert explained that the purpose of the 5:00 P.M. Work Sessions is to review all matters that will before the City Council on the following Monday. He noted that in the past, items were added to the agenda at the beginning of the Council meeting and there was not enough discussion on the issue prior to the Council making a decision. He hoped to avoid this situation. Mayor Reinert noted that five (5) items were added to the agenda at the beginning of the last Council meeting. He told Council Members to feel free to add items but hoped all would have a better level of understanding of each item. Council Member Bergeson said he agreed with the purpose of the Wednesday Council Work Sessions but hoped this would not "short change" the public by never hearing any discussion of items. He said he felt it was good to have some repeat of the discussions. Mayor Reinert said that discussion of the item would come from staff in the "green sheet" presentation, but the depth of the item should be understood at the work session. Mr. Schumacher felt that the work sessions allow the staff to see if a particular item is at the level that the Council is comfortable with. He said he did not want an item to be brought before the City Council two (2) or three (3) times before it is resolved. Pheasant Hills Preserve, Second Addition, Sewer Extension into Third Addition Mr. Schneider explained that he has received a plat of the Second Addition and it is smaller than what was originally planned.
