1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNCIL MINUTES <br />SEPTEMBER 9, 1992 <br />Staff members present: Public Works Director, Don Volk; <br />Recording Secretary, Joyce Lund; Finance Director, Mary Vaske; <br />City Administrator, Randy Schumacher and Clerk - Treasurer, Marilyn <br />Anderson. <br />Mayor Reinert noted that he had received telephone calls from <br />residents on Rustic Lane who are looking for their easement <br />acquisition checks. Mr. Schumacher will check with the City <br />Attorney on this matter. <br />1993 LEVY CERTIFICATION <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that the City Council will be required <br />to certify the 1993 preliminary tax levy by September 15, 1992. <br />He distributed a summary sheet of the 1993 Budget noting that <br />this is a balanced budget. Mr. Schumacher also noted that the <br />proposed preliminary budget is 10% higher than the 1992 budget. <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that the document entitled 1993 Proposed <br />Expenditures contains a page outlining the impact of this levy on <br />a $115,000.00 home and a $150,000.00 home. He also noted that <br />the Centennial School District and the Anoka County taxes are <br />proposed to be lowered in 1993. <br />Mr. Schumacher noted the page in the document containing the <br />schedule for a Certificate of Indebtedness. This is a long term <br />plan for equipment purchases and is designed so that there will <br />be an even flow of expense for this equipment until the year <br />2000. <br />There was discussion regarding setting the preliminary levy. <br />Council Member Bergeson noted that the proposed levy reflects the <br />higher proposal.
