284 <br />CITY COUNCIL CANVASSING BOARD <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNCIL MINUTES <br />NOVEMBER 3, 1993 <br />DATE November 3, 199.3 <br />TIME STARTED 5:07 P.M. <br />TIME :ENDED' . 5.15 P.>M. • <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Reinert, Neal, Kuether, Elliott, Bergon <br />es <br />MEMBERS ABSENT : None <br />Staff Members present: City Administrator, Randy Schumacher and <br />Clerk -Treasurer Marilyn Anderson. <br />The purpose of the meeting was to canvass the November 2, 1993 <br />municipal election. <br />Mrs. Anderson presented a written report of the municipal <br />election. She noted that the report is quite large because there <br />was an unusual amount of write-in ballots and the name of each <br />person written on a ballot had to be listed on the report. <br />The majority of votes were received by the person listed on the <br />ballot. The votes received were as follows: <br />CANDIDATES FOR MAYOR <br />738 <br />Vern Reinert <br />Harold L. Bisel 703 <br />There was a total of 23 write-in ballots and 9 blank ballots. <br />CANDIDATES FOR COUNCIL MEMBER <br />Sally Kuether <br />John Bergeson <br />905 <br />985 <br />There was a total of 254 write-in ballots and 802 blank ballots. <br />Mayor Reinert asked if Mrs. Anderson could offer an explanation <br />of why there were so many write-in ballots. Mrs. Anderson said <br />she felt it was because there was no challenger to. the Council <br />Members on the ballot.
