3 ;'4 <br />COUNCIL MEETING NOVEMBER 22, 1993 <br />to $2,000.00 per year with a renegotiation clause which is <br />outlined in the memo. The members also recommended that the bid <br />for the grass rigs be awarded to Toyne Fire Trunk. <br />After some discussion, Council Member Neal moved to increase the <br />pension from $1,200.00 per year to $2,000.00 per year. Council <br />Member Elliott seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Council Member Neal moved to authorize the purchase of two (2) <br />new grass fire rigs from Toyne Fire Truck for $50,262.00. <br />Council Member Elliott seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 92 - 93 Authorizing Submission of the Grant <br />Application and Execution of the Grant Agreement -Federal Police <br />Hiring Supplement Program - Mr. Schumacher explained that Chief <br />Pecchia has discussed with the City Council at budget work <br />sessions the program for applying for a grant to fund three (3) <br />new police officers for this City. He noted that the grant does <br />not fund 100% of the cost for the three (3) officers and the City <br />must set aside funding for the balance of the costs. Chief <br />Pecchia is anxiously awaiting the opportunity to submit the grant <br />since additional officers are needed in this community. Mr. <br />Schumacher noted that the grant is a three (3) year grant and <br />then the total cost of the three (3) officers will become the <br />responsibility of the City. <br />Council Member Neal moved to adopt Resolution No. 92 - 93 <br />Authorizing Submission of the Grant Application and Execution of <br />the Grant Agreement - Federal Police Hiring Supplement Program. <br />Council Member Elliott seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 92 - 93 can be found at the end of these minutes. <br />Setting Date for Last City Council Meeting in 1993 - Mr. <br />Schumacher asked the City Council to consider changing the last <br />meeting of the year to December 20, 1993. He noted that the last <br />week of the month is a short week and the date would have to be <br />changed because the fourth Monday of the month is a holiday. <br />Council.Member Elliott moved to set the last Council Meeting for <br />1993 as.recommended by -Mr. Schumacher. Council Member Bergeson <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Additional Budget Work Session - Mr. Schumacher asked if the City <br />Council felt a need to meet one (1) more time before the Truth in <br />Taxation Public Hearing.
