1
1994
STATE OF THE CITY
OUTLINE
Introduction/Welcome
The City of Lino Lakes, as an organization, is committed to providing the
highest quality of service to its residents at the lowest possible cost. We
began focusing on this basic principle in 1993 and will continue until this
goal is met. The following is an outline of some of the steps we've taken, as
well as those planned for 1994. We feel these steps will lead us to:
Fostering a Sense of Community
Providing Quality Service
Determining what the residents want and expect from
local government and meeting that expectation
General Government
* Americans with Disabilities Act compliance - have hired a part-time coordinator
and will be establishing a committee to examine facilities and programs
-designed to allow all members of the community to participate regardless
of an individuals specific challenge (disability)
* Established a Comment Line at city hall
* Established a "What do you think" section in the newsletter
* Restructuring - presently "flattening out" our organizational hierarchy which will
eliminate overlapping of responsibilities - stream line our operations -
clearly define duties and responsibilities - this is very common right now
in the private sector
* Litigation - Unfortunately a part of every municipality
- More prevalent in growing communities such as our own
- The City of Lino Lakes strictly enforces our rules relating to development
for the protection of present and future residents. Some may find them
too stringent thus lawsuits
5`)
