Page -2- *Litigation cont... - In every case that has gone to court however, the court has ruled on the side of the city upholding our actions - The courts are finding us fair and consistent * City plans to add a Charter Commission Liaison to the Economic Development Authority Advisory Board * A comprehensive Resident's Guides with information on everything from Cable TV to Waste Haulers were mailed out in late fall. The question arose about how to get this guide out to residents who have moved in since the mailing of this document. We have developed a program whereby police officers on patrol will stop by city hall and pick up a stack of new resident folders which will include among other items a residents guide, and each one addressed to a new member of the community. While on patrol, officers will personally drop off a packet, introduce themselves to the new homeowner and welcome them to the community. We see a number of public relations benefits to this program * We have adopted a two year dog license that will coincide with the dog's rabie vacation booster shot. The license will run for two years vs. one, thereby eliminating annual trips to city hall, as well as the "rush" on staff at the end of the year for renewals. Renewals will be spread out over the whole year. * City employees fostering sense of community - -Adopting a portion of Main Street -Friday is food shelf day - Dress casual and bring an item for the food shelf or money contribution -Staff is instructed that while they may not have all the answers, we will work with residents to find them * Expanded hours at city hall Building Department/Growth/Engineering * Lino Lakes was 7th fastest growing community in the metro area out of 142 cities * Median Household income - $45,578.00 * Persons per household - 3.25
