A short
video was shown which explained the need for the facility.
Additional written material was given to the City Council.
Since the video was prepared, a building has been donated to the
organization. The problem is that the building (former Lexington
Liquor Store) must be moved to a site at the intersection of Lake
Drive and Firebarn Road. The total cost for moving the building
will be approximately $150,000.00. The organization is in the
process of raising the money and asked the City of Lino Lakes to
donate $5,000.00. It was noted that the developer of the land at
the site where the building is currently located donated
$1,250.00 and will not consider moving the building. The
building must be removed from the site by May 27, 1994 or it will
be demolished.
Mayor Reinert noted that a commitment cannot be made this
evening, however the matter will be referred to the finance
department.
