i <br />i <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION JANUARY 3, 1996 <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />MINUTES <br />DATE January 3, 1996 <br />TIME STARTED 5:00 p.m. <br />TIME ENDED •7:42 p.m. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT Council Members Bergeson, Kuether, Lyden <br />Neal and Mayor Landers <br />MEMBERS ABSENT None <br />Staff members present: City Administrator, Randy Schumacher; City Engineer, David <br />Ahrens; Community Development Director, Brian Wessel; Community Development <br />Coordinator, Mary Alice Divine and Clerk -Treasurer Marilyn Anderson. <br />Mr. Schumacher proposed that the City Council hold regular work sessions. No action <br />would be taken on items. Work sessions would allow the staff an o ty to talk to <br />the Council about specific items. <br />TAYMARK UPDATE, BRIAN WESSEL <br />Taymark is looking for a new location for thei <br />center. They are considering two (2) separate <br />in the City of Hugo. <br />, distribution, and office <br />in Lino Lakes and another location <br />Staff proposed that Taymark 1 a >r. ce of land east of Otter Lake Road on Main <br />Street. Anoka County has .,,t, Bloc. e the present Otter Lake Road further east to <br />provide a safer intersec Street. The relocation of Otter Lake Road would <br />provide the safer i . ec and allow Taymark to build on the southeast corner of the <br />re -aligned Otter r Main Street. <br />If Taymark commits locating in Lino Lakes, staff would propose a project involving <br />relocating Otter Lake Road, bringing municipal water to the area from Birch Street and <br />allowing Taymark to use Revenue Bonds or TIF financing. Initially, Taymark will build a <br />120,000 square foot building and ultimately the building will be expanded to 200,000 <br />square feet. <br />This matter is expected to come before the Council in February. <br />HUGO/CENTERVILLE/LINO LAKES WORK SESSION, WEEK OF <br />FEBRUARY 5TH <br />The three (3) cities have been meeting informally on a regular basis. The next meeting <br />will be hosted by Lino Lakes and is proposed for February 8, 1996 at 6:00 p.m. Staff will <br />contact both Hugo and Centerville to determine if these cities can attend on that date. <br />PAGE 4 <br />
