1 <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION JANUARY 3, 1996 <br />Capital Building Committee <br />Chairman Council Member Bergeson <br />Animal Control Otter Lake Animal Care Center <br />Legal Depositories List Presented by Finance Dept. <br />Vadnais Lake Area Water <br />Management Association Rocky Keehn <br />Council decided to delay appointments for the following committees or boards: <br />Economic Development Authority Advisory Board (EDAAB), Utility Tracking <br />Committee and the legal newspaper. <br />An Educational Liaison and an Environmental Advisory Board liaison were commended <br />by the 20/20 Vision project. Council decided to delay these appoin that staff <br />could get a clearer understanding of their duties and powers. <br />Council discussed appointing Council Liaisons to differe a ments. Staff was <br />directed to discuss this matter at a department head • an ouncil know if they <br />want a Council Liaison. <br />NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES <br />Each year the National Leagues ds eir annual convention in different cities <br />throughout the United Sta etin_ are usually held the last week of November or <br />the first week of Dece <br />A recent newspape <br />Council Member to <br />decided that a polic <br />stioned whether or not it was appropriate for an outgoing <br />n . his past meeting. Council discussed the newspaper article and <br />this matter was needed. <br />Staff was directed to prepare a policy that would include at least the following concerns: <br />- All Council Members would not attend the same meeting <br />- If a Council Member has not been re-elected or will not be serving on the Council the <br />following year, that Council Member will not attend the meeting <br />This matter will be brought back to the Council for further discussion. <br />Trapper's Crossing Subdivision - Council Member Lyden raised several questions <br />regarding the Trapper's Crossing development. Council decided that both the City <br />Attorney and a representative from SEH be invited to the next work session to discuss <br />this matter. <br />PAGE 4 <br />
