COUNCIL MEETING <br />JANUARY 22, 1996 <br />December 18, 1995 - Council Member Neal moved to approve these minutes as <br />presented. Council Member Kuether seconded the motion. Motion carried with Council <br />Member Lyden and Mayor Landers abstaining. <br />CONSIDERATION OF DISBURSEMENTS <br />January 22, 1996 - Council Member Kuether moved to approved these disbursements as <br />presented. Council Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Centennial Fire District - Council Member Neal moved to approve these disbursements <br />as presented. Council Member Kuether seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT, CHIEF PECCHIA <br />Consideration of Terminating the Contract with the Minnesota Police Recruitment <br />System - Mr. Schumacher explained that Chief Pecchia is ill this evening and is unable <br />to address the City Council personally. The Lino Lakes Police Department is <br />recommending that the City no longer participate in the Minnesota Police Recruitment <br />System (MPRS). The City has been a member of this system since 1994 and used their <br />services to hire police personnel in the past. <br />The Chief of Police researched the potential for conducting an in-house testing process <br />utilizing other available testing services. He is recommending that the City dissolve the <br />current contract with MPRS and use an alternative testing consultant for hiring future <br />personnel. <br />Council Member Kuether moved to adopt Chief Pecchia's recommendation. Council <br />Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Consideration of Resolution No. 96 - 06 Accepting a Donation form the Centennial <br />Fire District Relief Association - Mr. Schumacher explained that the Centennial Fire <br />District Relief Association has donated $525.00 to the Lino Lakes Police Department to <br />be used for the Rice Lake Elementary School Safety Patrol program. The money will be <br />used for a patrol recognition day where elementary patrol members will be taken to a <br />roller skating rink for an afternoon of roller skating. <br />Council Member Neal moved to adopt Resolution No. 96 - 06 accepting the donation <br />from the Centennial Fire Relief Association. Council Member Lyden seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 96 - 06 can be found at the end of these minutes. <br />PAGE 2 <br />
