1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />5r <br />COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 22, 1994 <br />CONSIDERATION OF HIRING A SOLID WASTE COORDINATOR, DON VOLK <br />Mr. Volk asked for Council consideration to hire a Solid Waste <br />Coordinator. He explained that the position was held by Fran <br />Kurk until her resignation. Advertisements were placed in the <br />three (3) local newspaper and also advertised verbally at the <br />Anoka County Solid Waste Advisory Committee meetings. Applicants <br />were accepted, review and three (3) candidates were interviewed. <br />Jackie Constant is the candidate that is best qualified for the <br />position. Ms. Constant has been employed in the waste abatement <br />field for the past six (6) years. Her present employer is one of <br />the two (2) largest metro area private waste abatement companies. <br />Ms. Constant is a resident of Lino Lakes. Mr. Volk said he felt <br />that Ms. Constant is the major reason that the City of Lexington <br />agreed to enter into a contract with Lino Lakes for Solid Waste <br />Coordinator services. <br />The position is a permanent part-time position of about 30 hours <br />per week. Up to 15 of these hours will be spent in the City of <br />Lexington. <br />Mr. Volk recommend that the City Council hire Jackie Constant as <br />the Solid Waste Coordinator. <br />Mayor Reinert asked Mr. Volk to invite Ms. Constant to a Council <br />meeting and introduce her. <br />Council Member Bergeson moved to hire Jackie Constant as the Lino <br />Lakes Solid Waste Coordinator. Council Member Elliott seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />CONSIDERATION OF APPROVING RESOLUTIONS DECLARING COSTS TO BE <br />ASSESSED AND ORDERING PREPARATION OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENTS <br />Eight (8) improvement projects in the City have progressed to the <br />point where assessment rolls can be prepared. 'Costs for each <br />improvement have been calculated by the consulting engineer and <br />resolutions have been prepared ordering preparation of the <br />assessment rolls. State statutes and the City Charter require a <br />formal resolution ordering the preparation of the assessment roll <br />for each improvement. <br />Council Member Kuether moved to adopt Resolution No. 94 - 46 <br />Declaring Costs to be Assessed and Ordering Preparation of <br />Assessment Roll, Pheasant Hills Preserve, Third Addition. <br />Council Member Neal seconded the motion.
