_7 COUNCIL WORK SESSION NOVEMBER 22, 1994 and the drainage study should be completed by then. Mr. Powell said that he would notify the developers that Council action will be delayed. He will also request an extension beyond the 60 day period for Council action to allow for completion of the drainage study. Ms. Nyland will notify the landowners that Council action will be delayed. Mayor Reinert felt that the concerns of Mr. Gelbmann and the City of Hugo should be addressed prior to any action by the City Council. Mr. Al Ross was in the audience and explained that the utility work had been completed to his home. The inside plumbing will be completed tomorrow and then he will be completely connected to municipal utility services. Council Member Bergeson asked for an update regarding the drainage problem on the west end of Orange and Olive Streets. Mr. Powell will do a background investigation of the situation to determine if the problem has been brought to the City in the past. He will also check with Rice Creek Watershed District regarding this matter. Council Member Neal referred to a cul-de-sac with standing water in the Sherwood Green subdivision. Mr. Powell explained that there is no good solution to getting rid of the water. The two (2) options appear to be creating a better grade or channeling water away from the area. However, either solution would only be taking a problem and moving it to another area. He noted that if storm sewer pipes were installed, they would have to be routed to the storm sewer at Lois Lane and Greenbriar. Mr. Powell was not directed to pursue either course of action.
