1
1
1
Council Work Session
March 22, 1995
3. Five Year MSA Report - discuss at future work session
4. ADA Update - Marty Asleson
Marty introduced John Landers and Kathy Griffin, members of the ADA
Committee. A Plan has been development which must be adopted by
the Council and then implemented. Two important issues involve
programs & services and facilities. The City has an agreement with
the School District to share facilities. They are also working
with adjoining communities.
The Mayor asked to see a timetable of what needs to be done and
what costs are involved. There most likely are some items that
would be simple to facilitate at minimal cost. He also indicated
that a staff person should be identified to coordinate the program.
5. 20/20 VISION Update - Kim Sullivan
Kim introduced Julie Chyle who is the facilitator for the
Environmental Group. Kim expressed her quote for the week which
was that "people are not afraid of change, they are afraid of
loss". She indicated that the groups have started meeting. They
just completed a tour of the City which was very informative. She
thanked Brian, Mary Kay and John Powell for being the tour guides -
good job!! A citizen's library has been started in the hallway.
The committees are unsure that their recommendations will be acted
on so they are requesting a letter of commitment from the Council -
Kim will prepare an agreement for Council review and approval.
Currently the committees are divided into the following groups:
Environment - 9
Park - 7
Growth - 18
Education - 6
Commercial Development - 12
6. Regular Agenda - March 27, 1995
Staff briefly discussed the regular Agenda.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:00 P.M.
Respectfully submitted by Mary Kay Wyland
3
