• <br />• <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION FEBRUARY 21, 1996 <br />DATE <br />TIME STARTED <br />TIME ENDED • <br />MEMBERS PRESENT <br />MEMBERS ABSENT <br />• <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />MINUTES <br />February 21, 1996 <br />5:00 p.m. <br />8:47 p.m. <br />Council Members Bergeson, Kuether, Lyden, <br />Neal and Mayor Landers <br />None <br />Staff members present: City Administrator, Randy Schumacher; Anoka County Assessor, <br />Todd Smith; City Engineer, David Ahrens; Community Development Director, Brian <br />Wessel; Assistant to the City Administrator, Dan Tesch; Solid Waste Coordinator, Jackie <br />Constant and Clerk -Treasurer Marilyn Anderson. <br />DISCUSSION OF COMMERCIAL, RESIDENTIAL AND CO ���� ' CIAL/ <br />INDUSTRIAL TAX BASE, TODD SMITH <br />Mr. Smith presented a packet of information on this matt <br />packet included a history of the assessment (propert <br />comparison of where Lino Lakes commercial/. <br />compared to other Anoka County cities. <br />Mr. Smith was asked what percen <br />percentage of residential valu <br />commercial/industrial an <br />basically determined b <br />tax e at this time and will probably never have the same base as <br />reason for this supposition is that Lino Lakes is on the <br />o ea and many businesses do not choose to locate north. Mr. <br />ith this supposition noting the City is creating momentum in <br />ouncil. If Lino Lakes continues to pursue commercial/industrial development, the City <br />will be adding to the "pool" as well as benefiting and sharing it. <br />The annual Board of Review has been scheduled for April 15, 1996. Mr. Smith will be <br />present at this meeting to answer questions from residents and follow-up on requests for <br />review of their property valuation. <br />Council thanked Mr. Smith for attending the meeting. <br />PAGE 1 <br />
