COUNCIL WORK SESSION FEBRUARY 21,1996 <br />Staff will prepare the policy and bring it back to the next work session for Council to <br />review. <br />CITY ROAD RECONSTRUCTION, INA LILJEDAHL <br />Ms. Liljedahl was unable to attend this meeting. This item will be rescheduled. <br />LCMR GRANT APPLICATION, CLEARWATER CREEK GREENWAY <br />PROJECT, RANDY SCHUMACHER <br />The proposed greenway trail system is a joint project between the cities of Hugo, <br />Centerville and Lino Lakes, the DNR and the RCWD. The greenway is important to Lino <br />Lakes because it address concerns of residents for a sustainable environment in relation to <br />development and growth, it addresses issues of water quality, provides a buffer needed to <br />sustain this resource and to develop the light industrial area that abuts it in an <br />environmentally sensitive way. <br />At this time, there is an $800,000 LCMR grant available from t of Natural <br />Resources that if awarded to this project, would aid in cove .i�_ s � ing planning, <br />acquiring the land and developing the greenway. The Council indicated their support. <br />Staff will keep Coun 1 updated on this matter. <br />ADVISORY BOARD APPOINT SCHEDULE, RANDY SCHUMACHER <br />Staff presented a list of appointments for Council consideration. The list includes eight <br />(8) applications for the Planning and Zoning Board (there are two (2) vacancies), three (3) <br />applications for the Parks and Recreation Board (there are three (3) vacancies) and two <br />(2) applications for the Circle Pines Gas Utility Commission (there is one vacancy). <br />Council determined that they would interview applicants for these boards and <br />commission on March 6, 1996, 6:30 p.m. If a candidate is not available on that evening, <br />an alternate date will be set.
