This matt •e aced on the next Council work session. <br />DISCUSSION OF DERGROUND STORAGE TANKS, RANDY <br />SCHUMACHER <br />Recently, a business located on Lake Drive in Columbus Township was cited for possible <br />contamination of soils at their business location because of leaking underground fuel <br />storage tanks. This business has resolved their contamination problems. <br />This matter has lead Mayor Landers to wonder about underground storage tanks buried in <br />residential areas of this City. He asked staff to research and determine if their are any <br />grants available to assist the City in locating all underground storage tanks in residential <br />areas and if they are not in use, have them removed. <br />Staff has determined that MPCA grants are available for cleanup of contaminated soils, <br />• however, grants are not available for removal of the fuel tanks. <br />PAGE 1 <br />
